I take it the new metric for Housing Success is finding your listing in the Recommended tab?

I'll admit, the new Tours feature encouraged me to do a little improvements in my Home, especially after seeing what others are capable of. Though I can guess a lot of the fantastic Houses had real cash spent on them. Nevertheless now that I've had my House listed, I keep looking thru the Recommended list to see if it's there yet, since there's no way to tell if you've had visitors or not.

The list of Houses has gotten so long tho I doubt anyone's even seen it yet.

I’ve listed a few of my homes. I doubt any of them have made it to the Recommended tab since there are so many, but one player sent me a very nice ingame mail saying that they enjoyed touring one of my houses, and that just made my day. 🙂

I had the same thing happen to me. I decided I would do the same to all houses that I visited. Otherwise, there is no way to know if anyone even visited. It would be great to get some metrics about your listing like number of visitors or if it got recommended.

Me too, I left emails on the tours I especially liked, or there was something pleasantly surprising. And yes, I agree, some kind of metric would be a helpful addition.

Your listing has a number of Recommendations and you get a notification when it gets to the Recommended list.

However, your house can get to the list with even just 1 recommendation because the list is a mix of different amounts of recommendations.

    Absolutely not.

Success is feeling like you created something YOU like. If others enjoy it too then that's a bonus, but it is and has always been an artistic, creative endeavour that rewards you by involving you in making something that pleases you.

The tours recommended list is a random selection of homes that have some recommendations, and by no means a measure of success.

I agree with you! The fun is in the process, and if you enjoyed making your build and decorating your house how you want it, then that's success already. There's so many houses and different ways to decorate them, not to mention custom builds, re-skining the architecture and so on, plus everyone has their own aesthetic preferences and ideas, so it's normal for something not to click with others. If you are enjoying engaging with the system, you don't need any validation to feel good about it, because you're already having fun with it.

I don't feel so. I think the measure of success for me is holding a concept in my mind and manifesting it - as best I can - in game. It's certainly fun when one of your houses gets on the list, but it's about the creative process, not some mystic metric.

My house has been listed for a couple weeks now I think, and still no recommendations. Little bit of a sad panda, to be honest.

I've listed a couple of my homes for easy access on the UI panel, that's it. I would never even list my main home because while I do like showing it to some people, I also don't like the idea of players constantly possibly going in and out of it when I'm just trying to chill alone (not a fan of the idea of people copying some of the stuff I did in it either).... so no, not at all.
