Would love a fishing mini event

I’m with you. I have all the achievments too. I like fishing the way it is, simple, easy, and relaxing. When I see the words “fishing minigame”, I think of every stupid little frustrating fishing minigame I have ever played and feel instant revulsion.

Agreed ^ I like that they way the system is now you can just press a button every now and then, and it the meantime you can relax watching the scenery (or even something else in a different screen), instead of focusing on throwing or reeling. There's so many other 'active' things you can do in the game, it's nice to have a more relaxing one.

Fishing requires reconstruction. In the form in which it is presented now, it is too boring

As a mini-event, without event tickets etc, this would be a welcome addition to the current types of mini-events.

I find fishing to be a very relaxing activity and very useful when cooling down after bouts of hectic action.

I luckily have 2/3rds of the all fishing achievements completed

.

Getting so far was a pain

. Mostly those achievements where you need to get 2 blues and 2 greens. Almost everytime one of the blues took forever to drop. At least using the CP active skills, the food and the companion passive made it a bit easier.

But the event coming up next year will help me to get the missing fishes from IC and Cyro

. Those I am still missing (all of them in Cyro and half of them in IC).

i dont quite have all the fishing achievements yet, but for me i personally find fishing a little annoying because of the little minigame (its an extremely basic minigame, where if you dont reel in at the right time you get nothing)

i would find fishing more relaxing and fish more if there was no minigame, and fishing worked like every other material node in the game, you interact with it, and then loot it, no pointless waiting (they could make the interaction take the same time it currently does instead of instant, i just want there to be some way to "auto reel in" when a fish bites)

It took me a while to get the hang of it too. Staring at the pole gave me headaches at first, lol. I don’t know if you use keyboard or controller, but on controller if you watch and see either the pole bend or the bobber drop under the water when you feel the controller vibrate strongly it is pretty easy to get it. Others have said that every time the controller vibrates you can reel it in, but that way is much more difficult. The vibrations before the pole bending are weak and are just like the fish nibbling on the bait but the hook is not set yet.

Whilst not double fish drops, you are guaranteed to get the trophy fish you need(curated drops) as long as you are at the right water type hole!

i wonder if that will include the crab-slaughter-crane in wrothgar lol, that fish is still eluding me lol

might also use that event to work on fishing in annoying areas (ones that have only 1 type of fishing hole) and IC lol

It only drops in a specific area at a specific time I think. I no longer remember the how to catch it, but google is your friend in finding out. There's no point just fishing randomly for it, it won't drop if the criteria aren't met, but it does drop decently fast when they are met - good luck

The crab slaughter crane is easiest to get near dusk, and just in a fishing hole near the orc that talks about the fish.
