What is the best treat at Tamriel?

I know it varies from region to region and from species to species, but what is the best tasting treat?
I would also like to know more about quests and NPC statements about food.

Rotmeth certainly. The name only is just so... evocative.

More seriously, appart from the classical sweetroll, I don't remember much about sweets in ESO. There's Bofur ( the nord companion of Narsis Dren, the male one ) talking about scribe jam in Vaardenfell, saying it's delicious, but I'm not sure if i'm going to trust a nord on food matters ( kidding ).

Khajiit seems to put moonsugar in everything they eat, and they're various mention to food in Elsweyr's quests I think; I remember about the ones from Rigurt, when he want to make honey cakes in the skyrim fashion, or something like that. It didn't end well.

About food more generally, there's a lot of mentions - not talking about wine, but in West Weald you can talk to a nord ( again ! ) woman reading a cookbook she found; I don't remember from wich culture the book come, maybe bosmer ?

Talking about bosmer, there's of course a lot of mentions concerning their food habits - meat, meat, meat. And eternal doom in a tarpit if you eat any vegetable - or maybe not ? There is also Jagga, wich is fermented pig milk with honey ( maybe wild pig rather than the more domesticated ones ).

You can also talk to some NPC, and I think in particuliar about some cook in Alinor wich have different lines whether you're talking to him with an altmer char or a non-altmer one. He talked amongst other things about peacok and pheasant paté.

There is also a lot of food depictions in game, in furnitures especially, that can give some hints about what people eat. From Summerset you can get a pie, wich looks like a pie. Cherry pie I think.

Not sure about in game except for rothmead and sweet rolls. But my favorite book IRL is the official cookbook of ESO and depicts in the authors point of view the food across Tamriel.
On a side note I have tried to mimic some of the recipes 😋

Try to find Orzorga in Wrothgar. You two have lots of things to discuss.

Yeah I kinda forget about it but all the foods you can craft are also informations about foods in tamriel ( and beyond ! ). Recipes come with a bit of flavour text, so it can be interesting to read them ( maybe ).

There's lots of disturbing foods in Tamriel, it would have been easier to mention the least appealing one.
Though I'd like to taste a mammoth roast if I ever came through someplace cold in Tamriel.

Yeah, not a bad dish to go for either. Horker is extremely fatty if the skin isn't trimmed though, so I'll imagine it's a horrible consistency in a stew - like the stew Eowyon serves Aragorn in two towers :s Probably tastes decent if made out of better cuts.
