A Tea House for Azandar // new custom build

Azandar is my favorite companion, he's hilarious. While we're traveling around, he always says, "Keep your eyes open for a good tea shop. Always happy to try a new blend." I love tea too and I felt bad that we can never go to one because there isn't a single actual tea shop in all of Tamriel that I know of. So... I decided to build one :)

A Tea House for Azandar:
Tucked away at the quiet outskirts of Stormhold, sits a quiet, cozy greenhouse-teahouse in a mix of Ayleid and Clockwork styles, with bits of Redguard, Apocrypha, and Fargrave. (Azandar's favorites, but I also love these.)

UPDATE: video tour!

I chose the Ample Domicile partly because of the remnants of Ayleid ruins still visible around the plot, then "restored" some of those and brought in more Ayleid items.

Don't mind the bookwyrm who lives in the tree trunk; he doesn't bite. Usually.

Welcome in!

We offer a variety of fine teas from all around Tamriel. Would you like to smell a few blends?

Ah! Don't forget to ask about our new special - a limited time offer! No jest, this is one of our favorites yet ;)

Brewing in the back. To get the best flavor, it's important to steep at the right temperature, for the right amount of time.

Ready! A delicious afternoon tea.

The lounge, in Redguard style.

Although Azandar doesn't care for his hometown of Kozanset, he styles himself "al-Cybiades", as in the island off the coast of Sentinel. If you ask him about it during his quest, he'll tell you he chose this name for himself at an earlier time in his life when he wanted to get away from his humble origins, and keeps it since 'this is who he's become'. So some of the decor in this teahouse is inspired by the tropical, verdant Cybiades.

A fun note from UESP: "In early cut drafts for ESO's Thieves Guild DLC, Cybiades was originally intended to be the setting ... this was later scrapped and remade when the setting changed to Hew's Bane, though glimpses of a more plant-filled Abah's Landing in Cybiades were previewed in an episode of ESO Live."

Khajiit enjoys a celestial projection in the lounge:

(NGL this one hurt; it's way too many gems for a single, non-collectible furnishing. I had enough for one since I rarely spend them; I'll be sharing it between my houses.)

The best seats in the house:

Khajiit enjoys the view.

Well Azandar? What do you think of our tea house?

Az ponders the light well and mumbles something about Ayleids.

    This is cute.

The price for the projection however... That should not be an apex reward. Shame on you ZOS.

That is insane. (in a good way!)

If I may ask... where is the hut that comes with the plot? I don't see a hint of it anywhere (a testament to your design), and where did you fit the greenhouse?

Thanks everyone! Yeah, the star projector - awful "pricing". I wouldn't have got it if I didn't have the crowns/gems already.

Thank you! Yes I love those huts, great for landscaping over :D I just got Stay Moist during the Zenithar sale so I could do this again. Anyway, it's on the left behind the well and the apocrypha fossil rock; covered in foliage. The greenhouse just fit to the right of it.

Something about this is giving me Myst series vibes. Tomahna, maybe?

Ooh! I played a tiny bit of the original Myst an extremely long time ago. Meant to get the series and try again, but always put it off. That place looks amazing, thanks for mentioning it. Maybe next sale...

I feel like some childhood encounters, even if brief, with worlds like Myst, Dinotopia, etc. just permanently stuck their aesthetic in my psyche, you know?

Awesome! I actually played Myst VR for the first time last month. It was surreal. The nostalgia feels were so strong, I almost cried.

I really like these house pics, btw, and they really do remind me of the Myst series. They feel magical yet believable. The close up of the counter is true to that series too. You'd always click a desk or table and find an array of random objects that felt purposeful, but you weren't sure what that purpose was, and there was usually a note or journal to read among the objects. The outside is gorgeous too.

This is gorgeous! The amount of care that you put into even the smaller details, and coming up with story to go along with the beautiful screenshot and all... very well done.

Update! FINALLY made a video tour. Just added to the top of the OP :)

      * But there's so much cool Apocryphal furniture coming in U40, I think I might have to mess with this place again :D

Fun build. I like themed "way stations" to use for my fast travels.

LOL. I am actually a massive fan of tea, but I think I am allergic to it. My throat always hurts after drinking tea. Been a tea drinker most of my life but quit about 2 months ago and no more tight throat...go figure.

So, back to my burnt bean water. :D

Oh no! I'm sorry, allergies suck! :( I would be livid, it's teatime all the time over here.

I do not use Home Tours for the time being: https://moonpile.tumblr.com/post/758180377760251905/the-trouble-with-home-tours-eso-u43

I'm on PC NA and all of my open homes can be accessed any of the "old fashioned" ways.
