Azandar is my favorite companion, he's hilarious. While we're traveling around, he always says, "Keep your eyes open for a good tea shop. Always happy to try a new blend." I love tea too and I felt bad that we can never go to one because there isn't a single actual tea shop in all of Tamriel that I know of. So... I decided to build one
A Tea House for Azandar:
Tucked away at the quiet outskirts of Stormhold, sits a quiet, cozy greenhouse-teahouse in a mix of Ayleid and Clockwork styles, with bits of Redguard, Apocrypha, and Fargrave. (Azandar's favorites, but I also love these.)
UPDATE: video tour!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mANvUowJVCwScreenshots:
I chose the Ample Domicile partly because of the remnants of Ayleid ruins still visible around the plot, then "restored" some of those and brought in more Ayleid items.
"This house is a good house! Plenty of room for guar!" - Esqoo of Dhalmora
The front porch:
Don't mind the bookwyrm who lives in the tree trunk; he doesn't bite. Usually.
Welcome in!
We offer a variety of fine teas from all around Tamriel. Would you like to smell a few blends?
Khajiit pondering the menu:
Ah! Don't forget to ask about our new special - a limited time offer! No jest, this is one of our favorites yet
Reading corner with Tomeshell librarian. I like the lighting here:
Brewing in the back. To get the best flavor, it's important to steep at the right temperature, for the right amount of time.
Ready! A delicious afternoon tea.
The lounge, in Redguard style.
Although Azandar doesn't care for his hometown of Kozanset, he styles himself "al-Cybiades", as in
the island off the coast of Sentinel. If you ask him about it during his quest, he'll tell you he chose this name for himself at an earlier time in his life when he wanted to get away from his humble origins, and keeps it since 'this is who he's become'. So some of the decor in this teahouse is inspired by the tropical, verdant Cybiades.
A fun note from UESP: "In early cut drafts for ESO's Thieves Guild DLC, Cybiades was originally intended to be the setting ... this was later scrapped and remade when the setting changed to Hew's Bane, though glimpses of a more plant-filled Abah's Landing in Cybiades were previewed in an episode of ESO Live."
Khajiit enjoys a celestial projection in the lounge:
(NGL this one
hurt; it's way too many gems for a single, non-collectible furnishing. I had enough for one since I rarely spend them; I'll be sharing it between my houses.)
The best seats in the house:
Khajiit enjoys the view.
A secret spot to get away from it all:
Well Azandar? What do you think of our tea house?
Az ponders the light well and mumbles something about Ayleids.
Thanks for visiting, come again soon!
