But not this one. Any generic Rallying Cry + Wretched Vitality build is as good or better. Ayleid Torc is for players who would rather grind than theorycraft, performs as intended, but if you care that much about builds, look elsewhere.

yep. its a poor mans 'Oakensoul'.

Depends on the class. I really like it on Templar, for instance. For classes that already perform well at baseline (e.g. Sorc, NB, DK), there are much better options.

It's convenient and at least decent, but doesn't have the ceiling of Balo attrition, or crit dmg stacking, or pressure proc stacking, or Olo support, it's nowhere near a must-have, especially given the awful grind.

I didn’t say it was a “must-have.” I’m just saying I can understand why people want it, because it CAN work on certain classes if you’re willing to give up certain benefits provided by sets. That said, I agree with you that it’s not worth grinding for. I got it passively in about one week while grinding for style pages; if I had to actively grind for it and was 50+ IA runs in without getting all the drops, I wouldn’t bother, because IA is ridiculously boring.

How far into IA are you farming?

If you're just farming Arc 1, then you'll rarely ever get anything. Arc 2 not much better but some results. Arc 3 is where it becomes more consistent.

Except I got all the leads in one week while farming Arc 1. Didn’t even do any of the side portals.

OP, have you tried farming on a different character? I’ve noticed that one of my characters mysteriously has consistent good luck with leads compared to my main.

your luck makes me want to cry...yeah i switch between maybe 4 or 5 characters, maybe one of them was luckier but im not sure, havent been keeping track

yeah I've played about five characters myself today. I'm literally burnt out and barely had enough in me to do a random dungeon for my event tickets. No torc lead drops. Pitiful rewards. The idea to drop overland sets instead of dropping class sets was a HORRIBLE idea.

It took me longer to get Torc of the Last Ayleid King than it did making 12 low level crafting alts to farm daily writs for the Sea-Serpent Coil mythic's Jewelry Survey lead. That's how bad the Torc farm is.

Torc is ok in open world PVP. I think it's better on some classes than others e.g. it's not bad on warden because warden has easy access to major/minor breach. I wouldn't run it on magsorc though. Does torc have similar power to a proc build? nope, because it doesn't play the game for you.

It took me a week to farm the leads, most of them dropped from arc 1 final boss and I never got more than 1 lead a day. That was a couple of patches ago.

Experience has taught me, that the only thing you need to do to find a lead, is not wanting it.

Or just be out on a new level 5 of any class - I got a HUGE amount of leads while running a couple of low levels for wayshrines and skyshards, harvesting everything as they went. Obviously not leads from instanced content of course....

I would say there are just SO MANY leads available from only the one source - Infinite Archive - that they are ALL too rare.

This is the most frustrating experience I've had in the game for a long time. I can't remember hating a grind this much.

I feel quite sure it's done on purpose - to force those who are "antiquities completionists" into IA, so that content looks like thriving....

Of course. By now I've been in this "content" a handful of times without a single lead dropping - and not even a single fragment of the card deck has dropped either. At this drop rate, I doubt I'll ever go there again. I don't like wasting that much time on absolutely nothing.

rallying cry and wretched dont give you the 15% damage mitigation, and like i said before, with the vamp nerf, if you 1vx at all, you'll understand the value of 15% dmg mitigation
i run rallying cry and wretched on many classes, but on plar, this mythic performs much better in 1vx than both
and trust me, take your "generic" build to stormhaven and see how it performs, if i run into you there im happy to duel you

what i can also tell you is i kill people on their meta builds all the time, but this mythic has proven to provide more meaningful damage mitigation than any meta build out there on certain classes, im not trying to prove this is the best mythic ever, it certainly isnt, but saying rallying cry or wretched is just better could not be more wrong
