Is stamina Arcanist a good choice for solo PvE and group play?

I want to make an Arcanist and tend to favor stamina based characters but don't want to waste the effort if it isn't that great. I feel like I got burned putting time in making a necromancer.

Thoughts please?

Technically, with beam using whichever resource is higher, and flail costing stamina, stamina arcanist are the stronger of the two, and would be a strong option for solo and group content. Just, go into it knowing you'll use beam a lot.

What is the current meta build for the stamina Arcanist?

    https://www.skinnycheeks.gg/arcanist

    Brief overview on sets:
Ansuul (things to interrupt/coral stam minigame not working out) or Coral (preferred, but stam minigame)
    +
Deadly Strike (not lots of adds) or Azureblight (lots of adds)
    +
    Velothi
    +
    Maelstrom inferno

    • CP 2000+
    • Warden Healer - Arcanist Healer - Warden Brittleden - Stamarc - Sorc Tank - Necro Tank - Templar Tank - Arcanist Tank
    • Trials: 9/12 HMs - 3/8 Tris
    • Dungeons: 30/30 HMs - 24/24 Tris

No. It isn't a good choice, it's the best. It isn't even a competition at this point. Stamarc is leagues ahead of the other classes

I'll have to start with a more basic setup I guess. I have Velothi and Maelstrom Inferno, but I have never been in the trials for the other gear.

Then I better hurry before they decide to nerf it.

I think I started the build with deadly + azure. Deadly is from PvP so you can buy it from guild traders, azureblight is from lair of maarselok so if you haven't done that then maybe can substitute it with a stat set like order's wrath.

Arcanist is slowly being nerfed already, but it doesn't seem like it'll get obliterated any time soon. I think the 2nd in line if Arcanist does get nerfed too much is we get magDK meta again. Stamsorc has highest single-target damage right now though and gets you a spot as a support DPS in trials. Dungeons... you can really do whatever you want as long as it does some kind of damage.

Deadly and Azureblight can be used together? The skinnycheeks guide made it look like they are a choice between one or the other.

Yes, they can be. It's not ideal because you want a set from a trial for minor slayer, but if you don't have a trial set then there's nothing stopping you from wearing both at the same time.

I used Azure/deadly for trash setup in vet trials before I got used to coral riptide fb. I still use it when I don't feel like messing with the mini game or it's too hard to maintain for some reason. Works fine.

As others have said, the stamina Arc is the top DD in PVE right now. For single target fights, Ansuuls + Deadly Strike is the pairing. But if you have a trial where there are a lot of strong adds that bunch up, like Kyne's, Rockgrove, Sanity's Edge, or Lucent Citadel, I prefer Ansuul's + Azureblight. You can also use Deadly + Azure.

Ok I got all of the Deadly. Now working on Azureblight but that is going to take a while. The queue took over an hour just for one run through.

Do I wear Azureblight as the armor pieces and Deadly for jewelry and weapons?

That sounds right to me. Also means less runs of LoM. Bright side though is the undaunted event coming up has double drops!

You want 100% uptime on Azure, so body/jewelry. You can queue for normal as well, but yeah, that dungeon is not popular as it is long. Maybe wait until its a pledge or just queue and do other stuff while you wait.

As for Azure, its strong as long as you have multiple targets grouped together or close enough to proc it, that's where it gets it power. Its not as strong with single-target fights, like most boss fights. For that you would be better off with Ansuul's, Coral Riptide, Whorl (as long as you can proc it consistently), or Order's Wrath paired with Deadly

If you want a jack of all trades setup for Arcanist, I would go with Azure + Deadly. I assume you have the amulet for all of this, too.

Its not a bad setup, even in difficult veteran trials or DLC dungeons. Once you get perfected Ansuul's, and run raids with organized groups, that's when the specialization between single-target heavy and multiple-target heavy trials matters. But if you are just running pugs through group finder or not score pushing, Azure + Deadly sounds like what you are looking for. Check out skinnycheeks' site for more
