Question About Low Pop Bonus

Back when EP got night capped all the time, we could never get the low pop bonus and someone in zone always said you had to hold your Tri Keeps in order to get low pop bonus.

Is this true?

Would like official clarification please.

    No you don't need to hold your tri-keeps for low pop bonus
    the bonus is calculated over a rolling time window based on the highest populated alliance compared to yours (I believe this is 3hs but it might have been adjusted).

    This morning someone said in zone chat "DC just got low pop bonus". So, the obvious course was to take Glade and Warden to keep points down. BUT, the low pop bonus went away before evaluation. They got it after one evaluation but it went away before the next evaluation. I was keeping up with timer and we had 2 minutes to cap Rayles and when I looked the low pop bonus was gone, but pops were still 1/2/2. The pop when the bonus first appeared pops were 1/2/1 but jumped to 1/2/2 within a minute or two after evaluation.

    I really hope ZOS will answer this. Because this isn't the first time I've noticed it. It happened several times on EP. And someone in zone said we couldn't get bonus because we didn't hold tri keeps.

    As I said, it's not based on 'current' population but on the population a certain time period ago. The goal of low pop bonus is to encourage players to come and play so it would be fairly pointless if it went away as soon as the population increased.

    That being said it's been broken for a long time and I wouldn't expect any changes at this point.
