How does what houses are shown on Recommended work?

Is it based on the recommendations/favorites? If so how do we get initial exposure to our homes to get them displayed there in the first place, or will guild homes always take precedence due to the amount of people that can visit and recommend those?

its basically random

its supposed to be a selection of houses with a lot of recommends and houses with few/no recommends

from a user perspective, theres no way to tell which is which though, as the recommended count is only displayed to the owner and the houses do not appear to be sorted in any particular way

Thanks for the insight, I guess that's how you get exposure on your house then if it's picked as one of the ones for few/no recommendations. Do the ones like in the middle of the lane then get completely lost in limbo or is the few/no recommendation one more like complete RNG?

its likely just random from across the spectrum

honestly the recommended subsection i almost find to be not useful because it has like 100+ houses listed there, its still far less than the full browse list, but almost too much to be useful or really count as "featured" if its still 3/4 of the way down the massive scrolled list

i think it's useful as discovery + free travel. turns out my objective of owning every house in the game is unneccessary now, but for the few i still don't own i can visit someone else's and then exit at that location w/o paying ft fee while also getting to experience a new house design each time I do that at least.
