like i do multiple roles on 1 character and have the armory for it but its either fork up 150k gold cuz cant swap the skill in armory or just be sub optimal and go back to pretending scribing doesnt exist

This is one of the biggest oversights in my opinion. I wasted 3 ink finding out that I can't save a specific version of a scribed version for solo play and a different version for group play. The only thing that I can think is that it's a way to ensure that players are constantly consuming ink. Whatever the reason, I finished the achievements associated with scribing (aside from collecting 500 ink for obvious reasons) and then just went back to playing as though scribing didn't exist.

I just discovered this too and was really upset. I play four different builds on my main (pvp and pve, so not the same at all) and cannot use different versions of those skills. So what’s the point of scribing? I’ve enjoyed what they offer to the game but I don’t like that I will be wasting ink on changing skills to remake them every time I want to change or add to a scribe on a build.

Doesn't the different version of the scribed skills save in the archive section at the alter??

Inks…that’s why. I like how the current system is in place.

Wow. Let's just hope it is an oversight, and not an ink-sink.

it still costs ink to rescribe a skill, i think it costs 1 if you were going back to a skill you previously scribed

but a difference of 1 or 3 ink for a skill scribe is pretty negligible, and becomes a major issue when ink itself is annoyingly rare to obtain

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

Why do you like the current system? I'm not interested in spending half of my playtime farming ink just so that I can adjust my scribed skills based on the content that I actually want to run. This is 100% an oversight or just flat out poor implementation to not allow players to save different versions of a scribed skill for different builds.

Yeah I was disappointed to discover this, I also wish the armoury would store any items you're not currently using on a saved build , hell let me buy an armoury box to store them in

    Free up some bag space

Respecting a a scribed skill is one ink per perk of you change all three items will be three inks just changing one then it will be 1 ink, with the new changes to how you get ink that would help, just wish our own armoury and assistants could let you make the changes so I don't have to be running back to the alter for each content change I'm doing .

Agree that it doesn't really make much sense.

From a gameplay perspective, a scribed skill is basically the same as a morphed regular skill. Having your different skill morphs save with your armory build, but not your scribed ones, is very counterintuitive. It's annoying to have to take the extra step every single time you do a different type of content, and if you do this multiple times a day the amount of ink you need becomes ludicrous. The argument that we need to be farming ink also doesn't make a lot of sense. Gear and enchants are created once and then available for as long as you want them, but that doesn't stop people from making new gear or different enchants. The huge amount of combinations we can make with scribing should be reason enough to want to farm ink, and I know I for one would be more willing to experiment and actually use ink if I could have different morphs of the same skill for my different builds. With the current system, I create 1 morph of the skill that I can use in one of my builds and never touch it again, because the only alternative is to respec it multiple times a day.

From a commercial perspective I don't really get it either. First of all, seeing how closely regular skills and scribed ones are related, you'd think that it would have cost less effort to design a system where the skills get saved with your builds than it would to design a system where this doesn't happen. Which could be a commercially viable move, keeping us busy while they're preparing the next bit of content, but this brings me to my second point: scribing could be a huge reason for people to buy extra armory slots. It could be a reason to revisit older content with newly created builds, try out different strategies, and simply have fun with the system. Releasing it as a never ending ink grind feels pretty uninspired in comparison, and after the negative feedback that came with the anniversary event grind this probably wasn't the smartest move.

For someone who plays different builds and roles on a single character, this forces me to only use one configuration of scribing skills on a specific build and basically not use it on all other. (don't have ink to change all the time and cba)
