IA class sets = massive grind

This is by far the biggest grind in the gaming imo, each class set is best unlocked using your specific class and even then it's drops in every weight etc. would take forever to unlock various sets

It will take what it takes. I completed the "old" class sets (months ago) and I'm already on the way to get all the new ones.

No hurries, unless you are thinking of uninstalling soon.

It's a grind, but I think that's what they intend - they want people running IA as a long-term activity.

I've already completed the new sets on my two most-played classes, though this was helped along substantially by buying the containers from the vendor - first the un-curated ones last week when I knew none of the pieces, and then the curated ones to help finish off my collection. I had saved up a lot of fortunes over the last year in anticipation of spending them on the new sets. There are some in my guilds who do long archive runs to arc 10+, or who run it every day, and they're even ahead of me in their collection of the new sets.

It's certainly not as bad as the grind used to be for dungeon sets, before the stickerbook existed and before curation. And I doubt it's the worst in gaming. But not everything is meant to be finished in a few days, you'll get there!

You can get 7 pieces if you get to Arc 4 plus you can buy 2 more piece from the IA vendor using the currency you obtained in that same run, so 9 pieces in total. Set have 36 pieces, so only 4 runs to complete a full class set.

    That's not a big grind.

Non-curated sets from Cyrodiil and Imperial City would like a word.

As i said befor ein other posts, the players are getting so lazy. Everything that takes more than 1 day to achive is resulting in a forum post outrage nowadays.

It's a grind for sure, but IA is the best PvE content in the game IMO with plenty of great loot so I'm okay with it.

Pro tip, if you are farming a specific set just buy the curated bags from the vendor and you get what you want pretty quick.

The biggest problem with IA is not the massive grind, but that most class sets are too useless, such as Beacon of Oblivion.
We need really interesting class sets.

Yes l, it looks like the nb and DK sets are decently received but the others not so much.

4 from arc last boss (four arcs, so four bosses) and 3 from four Marauders (one Marauder per Arc, starting on Arc #2).

It's in fact 8 pieces buying 1 from vendor (or buy 2 and you make 9 pieces per run).

i usually stop my runs at arc 3, but yeah thats 3 drops from tho'at and 2 from marauders, i find it a bit faster to stop at after arc 3 and reset than running arc 4 unless i have good visions

in a week i already have almost half of all the new class gear collected and i havent bought a single box

Its been a while since I finished the first set of sets

But as I recall, if you have all the armor pieces and the RNG wants to give you armor (ego on the first Thot), it will give you another class set armor instead of the weapons you still need (and vice versa) -- annoying yes

yes, but it depends which arc your on which gear you get

odd arcs (1, 3, 5, etc) give armor
    even arcs (2, 4, 6, etc) give weapons/jewelry

so if you want to collect all of the gear you have to clear through arc 2 at a minimum, or buy boxes with fortunes, only clearing arc 1 you will never get the weapons or jewelry

To expand on this: if you have all Wrathsun armor collected but still need weapons/jewelry, you will get a random piece of armor from another collection you do not have in an odd numbered arc.

    This.

It's been exactly one week since update and I have almost entire set as sorc with a just a few solo runs sorcs, I think it was something like Arcs 3, 5, 5, 7 and two runs just for new daily achievement progress (arc 1 + maybe marauder if needed or appeared early, can't remember), some marauders failed.

Half the set pieces on arcanists in 2 runs, 4+6:

This is hardly a grind, especially compared to dungeons and trials, runs are more rewarding and there is at least some variety.

Even better then. More on my favor that this is not a grind.

It's really easy and quite short (comparing to what grinding means) to get a full set or all sets.

In fact, it's quite possible to get a full set in one day.

And people call it grinding. :s

yup, it focuses on your current class first

since there are now 2 sets though, it will take longer to start getting other class drops unless you already had all the original sets finished lol
