Charm Ability in Scribing System Overpowered for Wardens

I've been playing around with the new scribing system, and it's clear that the Warden's class script, especially the Charm ability, is way too strong compared to the other classes. While balance is key to keeping gameplay fair and enjoyable, this skill gives Wardens an unfair advantage, making other class options feel obsolete.

I'd suggest a rebalancing to make the system more equitable across all classes.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Dragon Knight is okay'ish but the duration is too short on channel abilities
Templar same as DK, good value but way too short duration.
Nightblade should get boost on resource restore part, the critical value is good but too short duration.
Sorcerer is weird and weak, i feel like it should grant all pets additional shock damage and healing if playing without pets.
Warden is strong in PVP but half the PVE-relevant enemies are immune towards Charm.
Necromancer is bad because attribute increase is too weak, i feel it should generate corpse and give attributes.
Arcanist is ok, i tend to use it alot on Healer to generate crux.

Yeah, wardens are overpowered in all forms of the game and should be nerfed even harder than necros! :D

Seriously though, how is this different in PvP to a nightblade ability like Mass Hysteria?

Is it OP in PvP? If so, I will reiterate what I said before, we should have complete different abilities, spells and passives as well as gears for PvP and PvE. PvE and PvP should be completely different meta games.

I like the current design of sorcerer one and imo is one of the better class scripts. It gives DPS pet builds a little bit of survivability if they choose not to run the matriarch/clannfear morphs of the pets, the non-pet part gives no-pet sorcs some nice bonus cleave damage as well as a second chance to proc crit surge heal every time they cast the ability with the script attached.

The pet part could use some slight QoL improvements such as causing the pets to focus the target hit by the ability with the script (like daedric prey does) and the non-pet part could deal slightly more damage (or provide a unique shock damage taken debuff), but these are only small things.

What lets the script down is the lack of good abilities to add it to. The best ones are shocking soul, shocking burst, shield throw and the multi-target focus travelling knife, but travelling knife is a bit expensive to use as a spammable and is stam locked and the other 3 don't have good supporting DPS passives in their respective skill lines like travelling knife has. Shield throw is also stam locked if you want to take advantage of the energized passive that buffs physical/shock damage by 5% too, which makes a noticeable difference (and why I'm hoping shock damage is added to more scribing skills like shield throw).

Exactly. We got a lot of nerfs in PVE just because some PVP guys were complaining all the time about everything so pls ZOS seperate it.

What you’re failing to realize is every class has a stun on their bar it’s no different then nightblade using fear or sorcs using streak in fact it’s actually a little worse because you can’t spam this stun you can only activate it every 8 seconds. Also Arctic Blast just got nerfed into the ground no more talk of wardens needing another nerf. just because it’s a stun doesn’t mean it better then the other class scripts it’s just different.

Warden's Class Mastery Script is not OP.

I tested this on different skills in duels with random people. If you encounter an unexperienced player and you take him by surprise you kill him fast, true, but otherwise... I got nuked, humiliated even - someone defeated me 5 times in a row while I tested different variants and approaches.

If you apply it with Contingency there is enough time to avoid it, because the AoE gets telegraphed 2 seconds before, and the whole charging time to effectively cast Contingency gives enough advice to react.

If you apply it with something "sticky" like the Dual Wield Dagger, the animation is evident and takes enough time to block or dodge; also not being AoE requires being skilled enough to precisely aim the target in PvP (talking from a console perspective, with sticks controls).

In PvE is kinda useless aside from trash mobs exp farming, where you can get away without it anyway.

Scribing skills often balance themselves by having such notable and long animations.

Can this script be annoying to fight against? Absolutely!
But is it OP? Not really...
...and...is it funny to use? Again, absolutely! XD

Idk if you ever PVP'd but the charm is the most buggy CC in the game, it should be a stun if anything. Its the strongest of the class scripts by a mile.

I indeed have pvp’d… every week for the past 9 years for a total of at least 15 hours per week, 5000 battlegrounds wins, etc. Well I will agreed it shouldn’t be a charm and I’ve already made a forum post about that very thing. It is not so strong that anyone using it will have a leg up on anyone not using it, I’ve been testing it for the past two weeks and it’s just good not great, if your target is kiting you will never hit them further more it has a big giant AOE saying I’m here you’re going to be charmed in 3.2.1
