Which class sets are least worth using/collecting?

U43 improves the Infinite Archive experience and adds new class sets. Although we now have so many types of class sets, not all of them meet players' expectations.
Which set do you think is least necessary to collect? Which set has the least interesting or useless effect?

Corpseburster

Corpseburster is a fine set in PvE, but for the love of God ZOS, enough with the tiny radius on AoEs. Melee attacks are 7m. It's unacceptable to have AoE abilities these days with a radius of 5m. The radius absolutely kills this set in PvP.

Even the utility of the other Necro set is heavily diminished by small radius abilities. Since the tethers only have a radius of 5m as well, self-tethering yourself with Nobility just isn't all that great in PvP.

Sorcerer - for both groups of class sets, quite obviously. They need to burn those abominations to the ground and completely remake them.

Umbral Edge

Beacon of Oblivion is so underrated it’s unbelievable. It’s not going to break any meta, but the only drawback of it is bad second and fourth bonuses. 5 piece is basically unconditional ansuul + healing done on top of it. Could be really decent for solo content, especially for someone like me who hate pets. The best part is that it’s active 100% of the time unlike hundreds of niche procs, with limited use and mediocre effects.

Currently I would rate:
Pyrebrand as useful meta set for both pve and pvp
Beacon of Oblivion as decent off meta for pve
Aetheric Lance, Aerie’s Cry, Corpseburster as niche mediocre procs with no real use other than diversity and roleplay, not worth farming or golding
Umbral Edge and Spattering Disjunction as absolute garbage sets no one should ever consider using, they’re weaker than most crafted sets, how those made it to pts and then to live is beyond me.

Beacon of Oblivion

Beacon of Oblivion is trash unless you're a diehard no-pet PvE sorc, and even then the 2- and 4-piece bonuses are bad. If Sorc's output potential weren't so heavily loaded into pets it would be somewhat of a different story - but that's not the case and unlikely to change anytime soon.

Beacon of Oblivion is completely unworthy of being used in PVE and certainly won't be meta. It will force players to give up the highest damage Ultimate, thereby losing Sorc's ability to provide the team's Major Berserk, and even lose 15% of the damage when Summon Atronach.
Not to mention Sorc has better solo sets options. Even Monolith of Storms seems more interesting and reasonable than Beacon of Oblivion.

The sorcerer one. It is not only a massive DPS lost compared to the other sorc set, but it isn't even properly thematic. It doesn't help summoners despite being the summoning set.

i think pyrebrand, aetheric lance, and aerie cry are the most worthwhile sets, or at least the ones i want to use

i think the NB set could be interesting to use with a NB tank in pve as it would both improve your survivability and debuff the boss at the same time

in terms of "least necessary" i would say the sorc one

I like Umbral as a tank. It gives me a nice debuff without having to worry about it as long as I'm using one of my tanking skills.

Thanks for making this thread.

Although the forums make up a small microcosm of the community, it is polarizing just how horrible Beacon of Oblivion is in both it’s conception and actualization.

It’s leagues worse than any other Infinite Archive set I’ve seen, as in it actively punishes you for using the skill line associated with it.

Imagine if - and I know this might sound like madness, blasphemy, or worse - ZOS actually harnessed the creative & power-balancing capabilities of the community when coming up with class sets?

How crazy would that be.... and get this: they might even end up with class sets most players are happy with, consequently increasing overall IA engagement numbers with the full spectrum of classes actually being used to run the content.

Mindblowing stuff.

The set is mostly useless.

PvP tank = no
PvP healer = no
PvP dps = no

PvE tank = no
PvE healer = no
PvE dps = no

Solo questing = no (Macabre Vintage + damage set is generally BiS)
Solo world boss = yes if Stam Sorc but there are better sets, especially if you can source Major Cowardice

Misunderstood the question and voted wrong 😂 The Sorc set so far I would say Could be a nice option but not in the current state
