Are there plans for cross play on the consoles servers ?

Personally, I'm a big fan of crossplay and I think it's a great idea and a logical progression in online gaming.

But and this is a big point that should be considered very carefully. Look at what happens in CoD in the ranked games, especially with regards to x-box and x-pass. Without going into too much detail, but I think it would be imperative to develop a truly working cross platform anticheat engine.
    This comment is awesome!

Right, but it`s not a problem to play x-box consol games out of x-pass from pc-device.

    Crossplay between consoles, ok.
Crossplay between consoles and PC, absolutely not. Addons are the major problem.

    Why?

    Rofl.

Because obviously it would be unfair.

Addons make everything easier for pc players. Up to a point where using addons could be considered cheating.

Throwing pc- and console players in the same ring would be like a bike race where some participants are allowed to use a helicopter.

One reason for me to play on console is because everyone has (almost) the same hardware and software. I don't have to think about 2000 dollar graphics cards, addons and cheat engines as much.

Playing on console isn't a 100% fair either, because some players will always find ways to do nasty stuff, but it's way better than on pc.

Thanks for looking into this! At this time, I'm not complaining about the population on PS/NA, but I see folks on some other console servers are posting about low population. If you decide to implement this, please limit it to crossplay between Xbox and PS. I think that because of add-ons the game is very different on PC versus either Xbox or PS.

There would be some problems with mixing console and PC players in the endgame scene. Raid leading is already a lot of planning with figuring out the setups and strategies. Having to handcraft and alter all the strategies for people who don't have the addons sounds like a lot of work and would likely result in people only wanting to fill their groups with players on the same platform.

So in short, people would likely not want console players in their groups simply because it's a lot of effort to make it work, but not because they are any worse, but because it's just not practical.

Others said it in previous comment, it would be unfair.
Also, I can’t really explain it but I believe that addons are partly responsible for the huge difference in the economy of the game, between PC and consoles. Some prices can be 10 times higher on PC than on consoles for example. It seems much easier do make money on PC.

Sorry, but I still don't buy the "unfair" argument. PvP would be the biggest area where that might be true, but have focused zones if you want for that. (Since fewer zones would be needed for crossplay.

Otherwise, let people play as they wish. Some in trials and really hard content might be impacted, but those are hard enough already so it wouldn't be a change and many do not even try them anyway.

I have a full set of characters on PC and PS5 and would probably have to trim some of those, but I would do it in an instant for being able to play on whatever platform I wanted.

Maybe with crossplay there would be something in the group finder in the prime time (rn) and it would be possible to join a trial without have to join a extra trial guild :#
