Motif styles downgrade?

What happened to motif style in this game? They always were really good but since first Infinite Archive motif styles there is such a big downgrade in quality - textures looks blured and low resolution almost as motifs from first styles from 2014. Also coloring is awfull, even most intesive colors are pale and weaker colors are barely visible.

I loved most motifs so far, but since this change I just don't want use any of this motifs which is shame, because some of them looks cool, but these textures and coloring just make them unusable for me.

    I made some visual comparison with my random outfit with older styles and newer ones. I pick two best black colors: Legate's Black and Void Pitch. Just look how washed out and grayish are these blacks on new motifs. Low quality textures makes this even worse...

    Frandar's Tribute is from 2023 just like Basalt Blood. So why are they in different categories for you?
    Cumberland Cavalier was added in 2023 too, though just the head and shoulders the whole styles dyes the same way.

    so what counts as old or new?

    some outfit styles do dye weirdly that's true, but that goes for old styles as well as styles from the past 2 years.

    Psijic Order and Fang Lair are more grey than black with Void Pitch. They're from 2018

    Gold Road Dragoon, Order of the Lamp, and Earthbone Ayleid dye just fine and are all from 2024 this year.

    all 4 from 2023, Knowledge Eater and Gloamsedge dye way better than Kwama Miner and Dreamcarver.

    I collected ALL style pages released so far and spent dozens of hours in styling and I'm pretty familiar with it how they looks. Yeah, they were couple older style with weird coloring etc. but since Iast year there is completely new trend with this weird textures and they present completely different artistic style - maybe there is new person responsible for doing them. I don't know, but they look DIFFERENT than anything released in past and this is obvious change in artistic direction. So this is about old artistic style vs new artistic style - not release dates.

    Not all new motifs are in this style, but they are something new and we get more and more of this. I play since 2019 and most of motifs released since that time were really good, since last year for first time I look at some of this motifs and I ask myself - why it looks so ugly, dated and have terrible coloring? For lasy couple years we had stable trend of really good motifs and now we are back to standards from 2014-2018 era?

    I also don't see this new vs old like the poster in post #2 in this thread.

    The aesthetics traits have slightly changed in the more recent dlcs.

    A couple of dlcs ago the aesthetics were for shiny new armor without any wear like just purchased with a lot of shiny knightish armor styles.

    Now it is a bit less shiny stuff, more cloth or leather stuff and with some realistic wear which might look like it was going to the comparatively low quality textures of the base game. It is just that in the base game the armor were supposed to show some wear which might create the impression that it is a downgrade. But it is not. The textures of the new motifs are still good quality.

    And btw: While I agree that the textures of some of the old base game styles could really benefit from an overhaul the general approach for the base game styles was good and I really do appreciate these and would just wish for a higher resolution and better polycount. There are really awesome styles in the base game otherwise that I like to use for some of my chars.
