Yes, cancelling it only cancels the renewal, so you'll still get the full time you paid for (and won't get any money back) no matter how soon you cancel it.

I never want ESO+ for more than a month at a time, so I always buy it, check it's active and then cancel it immediately and I always get the full 30 days, it just doesn't renew when it's finished.

If you plan to continue playing ESO after canceling ESO Plus, make sure you cancel it through the proper channels.

There have been players who apparently canceled it through their credit card companies or banks and it resulted in the bank reversing the charge for their current subscription rather than stopping an upcoming renewal of their subscription, resulting in the total loss of their ESO account.

There is a link at the bottom of forum pages which says "Cancel ESO Plus," so presumably that would be the preferred way.

Yes, this is the way! Unless you know you want it for a while. But regardless, as others have said, you get the full eso plus subscription that you've already paid for, even if you cancel before it ends... it just won't auto-renew. I do this regularly.

That's a good point too. I didn't think to mention that because I always cancel it through ZOS - I play on PC so I both sign up and cancel it through the account page on the website.

Bank or credit card chargebacks are supposed to be for fraudulent transactions - it's a last resort for when you haven't got what you paid for and can't get the vendor to refund you. I think it costs the bank money to do them so if they get too many for the same company they can block their customers from using them (to prevent it happening in future), so to discourage it (and maybe because if you have to resort to a chargeback it means you don't trust the company and shouldn't want to deal with them in future) ZOS will ban accounts that do it.

I've only had to do it once, years ago when I bought gig tickets from a fake site (which looked real to me).
