Appearance is what makes the zone special. I have tons of pics, although I am not sharing many of them on Twitter. Without the scenery, it would merely be a smaller version of Blackwood.

But it should not be all of what makes any zone special.

Well, there's the one in Vvardenfell, but unless you're a dunmer fan it's certainly not ideal! Hmm. I really can't think of any others near the sea. There's the one UNDER the sea - oh, and there's the Lighthouse one! Or the ship....

I so desperately wanted Erlibru's Cottage - not far from the coast. *sigh*

Well, U43 shows a new house by the sea.... but with a weirdly dull house on the inside. Nothing like Alinor. Was that peak interior design?

You need to farm it (a lot) to get any plans. Ideally, you need to do it on multiple toons. Keep to the kitchen and loot only the 8 cupboards and the backpack. Reset them using the door to the courtyard.

Have fun! And aside from the irony, good luck!

My advice was for those people that do want the plans quick. If someone does not feel like farming (which is understandable), they do not have to do this. I think the situation with the furnishing plans is similar to Necrom, Galen, and High Isle. They were hard to come by if you do not farm them.

Edit: my comment above does not include the banners from Nerom which were dropping with alarming rate.

Edit2: for me it's the number of locked buildings that is the most annoying.

No. I'm two weeks into the zone now, and it is NOTHING like Necrom or High Isle. In two weeks, I have acquired literally ZERO furnishing plans, not even a green one. In Necrom and High Isle, I acquired seven or eight the first day I played alone (starting a month after release as I did here, because chapter releases are always a crappy time of year for me). For those chapters, I had dozens, including blue and purple, by the time I was this far into the zone. Again, in the West Weald: ZERO.

In my experience, it is both the number of lootables AND the drop rate that is the issue.

I know I'm late to the party, but I haven't had time to explore the new chapter until today, even though I preordered, and... what the heck? Leaving aside all the buildings that are locked altogether, even the open ones have scarcely so much as an urn or sack to loot, much less all the desks, nightstands, wardrobes, and trunks that we would normally see. This is seriously ridiculous.

I was reading your title and first thought: Well the landscape is actually well designed and it is one of those that came out better than some others.

But you mean lootables. Yeah, this is a HUGE setback. There is so little to loot. At Vashabar you can break into homes but only steal a savebox. The containers in there are unlootable despite being lootables outside of these homes. This is really a very bad thing.

Oh, yeah, no, I love the landscape, it's gorgeous. I'm enjoying the quests so far, too. But housing is a huge deal for me, and the fact that I have found absolutely no furnishing plans at this point is a dealbreaker.

How? Antiquity leads seem to drop every time I turn around. Trees, music boxes, blacksmithing stations, mythics leads everywhere I go. I have dug up more of West Weald than any other zone at this point save Artaeum.

Sure, rng is rng is rng. Over the course of an hour, a gaming session, or a day. But over weeks, compared to every other chapter since Vvardenfell? Sure. Right. Fewer? Maybe. None? Give me a break.

I saw the bit about it on a vid from someone (can't recall the name now) - I liked the "meander" it seemed to do up the hill. But I would really have rather had a cottage like the one between Alaxon'ald and Sunhold (though the layout inside isn't great).

My interiors are never any particular "in game" style - they're more like my RL house, very much an eclectic gathering of stuff from everywhere!

Haven't been to West Weald for two weeks, nothing there but endless autumn colors. I actually prefer the "burn".

Nothing there to pick up so few resources, no drops worth of spending more than a minute. And the mirror things are frustrating.

Whoever thought that stopping the damage taken by the Boss in the middle of the fight was a good idea.

Whatever they thought they were doing in Gold Road is a failure as far as I am concerned.

It is remarkably thin in content.

Well, I originally posted this 27 days ago, and after playing through the zone, and going back to repeatedly farm the aforementioned farming sites* on multiple alts, multiple accounts, both NA and EU, at various times of day, every day, for nearly a month....

... I finally got my FIRST and only West Weald furnishing plan. Green, naturally.

Woohoooo. Can you feel my excitement.

*Drop rates aside, I still think the zone is bare AF. Oooooooh, a whole 11 lootable containers in the inn, such a bounty of riches. Cannot roll my eyes hard enough.

Anyway, have fun with next year's chapter; it certainly won't be me prepurchasing and buying the deluxe edition again.

Yeah, I was on the fence about Gold Road but my daughter told me scribing would be the best thing ever. So I went ahead and bought it. I find the zone itself borning. Skingrad is actually ugly, that was kind of a surprise. Scribing, well I have found a couple of really useful skills but I had to kiss a lot of frogs to get there. It would ok to need to experiment to find skills that work for you if the ink grind wasn't so awful, but it is and that's not going to change because it was a purposeful choice made by ZOS.

So I brought the chapter for scribing and had to grind to unlock it, had to grind to get the scripts, had to grind to get the ink to use the scripts, grind, grind, grind. I might be spending time in the game, but I am not engaged. I'm bored and frustrated and not likely to make this mistake again. So right there with you.

From what I've heard about this chapter, it's probably a good thing I haven't been able to spare the cash for the Gold Road Collection (last chapter I played was Greymoor), which sucks to say. This chapter had me more hyped for ESO than I've been since, what, Summerset? Oblivion is my favorite game of all time so revisiting Cyrodiil (and one of my favorite regions in Cyrodiil, I might add) really had me excited.

But between hearing about a relatively barren zone, scribing not being as awesome as it sounded, and the disappointing conclusion (ie. waste of an awesome plot point) of the Ithelia story, I'm just kinda disappointed. I still plan to play it at some point, and I would have bought the collection if I had the cash to spare regardless of how things turned out, but it's just frustrating. This game, its story and its game world still have a load of potential to be even better than they are, but ZOS seems to have become unable to create a chapter with the depth and complexity of Morrowind, Summerset and Elsweyr. It's unfortunate, because ESO is the best MMO on the market, in my opinion, and I really want it to succeed.

Same. It was the final straw for me to cancel my ESO Plus sub and find other hobbies.

The game is declining and the devs don’t seem responsive to what players actually want. They only seem to be motivated by play time metrics and how to drive them up.

Well, the decline of ESO made me look elsewhere and I actually went back to playing WoW after many years, and as a long time WoW player I can say that the king is back. How? They gave people what they've been asking for years, everything is account wide, and that's just one of the great features. Over there, I feel my time and money spent is respected. Here in ESOland.. not so much, the solution here is usually with $$$, and the fact that most cool rewards are either in crates or the store doesn't help either.

If nothing major changes with ESO - the game is in serious trouble, economy is bad, people look at 120$ houses etc. and cringe. Then there's how bad combat feels, performance problems and other deeper issues.

Are you getting "tons of purple" _Colovian/West Weald plans? Or just other random furnishing plans? Because everyone else seems to be saying that, like me, they are getting other furnishing plans, but not the ones for this chapter.

I said this to you already, but I'm skeptical that it's "just RNG" when it's both servers, multiple accounts, multiple alts on each account, at all hours of the day and night, over a six week period, and so many other people are having similar results. Frankly, I think they just f&cked up the loot tables.
