Luminous Ink is a key resource for the Gold Road Chapter’s Scribing system. Whether you want it for your own Scribing efforts or to trade to other players, you receive three Luminous Ink each day when you log in on days 10-13, potentially earning 12 Luminous Ink in total.

It's good they added ink as a daily login reward for players who may have had badluck with ink drops so far.

PS: Does anyone know if ink can drop in PvP zones like Cyrodiil/IC? As I've harvested quite a few nodes and killed quite a few mobs in Cyrodiil, but haven't had any ink drops. Just wondering if it is just badluck, or if they can't drop there at all.

Over 100 hours of play since Gold Road release, and the only place I've gotten ink is off of mobs on Imperial City. Only 2 inks mind, but that's more than I've had from any activity in the game.

Yea I think they set it to drop like kuta from harvesting runestones. Way too low.

Mh. Maybe 100 would be enough?

I think 12 is not so bad. Equates to 3 skills scribed. That's more than half of one bar and probably more than you would use on a build anyhow.

It will save you from creating a new character and running that Scribing quest line again to get 12 Ink.

Technically, 12 inks nets you 4 full grimoires, aka 4 volumes of ink.

I am pretty sure that most players will miss out on logging in during those days to collect reward from Luminous Ink, so it wont make much difference whether Luminous Ink will from DL reward will be account bound or work as material that can be transferred/traded between accounts for the the market as Ink will still be sold for more or less the same price.

Demand and surplus will not change much as you need to (A) know that you have to log in during those days (B) the amount isn't that large as it is the same as Scribing quest line on a new character which would give same amount and (C) as you still need to pay with Ink for any change on existing Scribed skill which means there will still be players that need to "pay" for changes done in Armoury or at Shrine when changing build.

Whoops. I guess I missed that point in the article. I also didn't realize that the OP was a direct quote from the article.
My bad.

BUT, most daily log-in rewards are NOT tradeable (I think only the crafting mats and gold are, but all of the potions, foods, scrolls, crates, etc., are not), which is why I mistakenly assumed that the ink wouldn't be, either.

fwiw, I've been told by one guildmate that ink is not selling particularly well on PCNA currently. (I don't sell ink myself).

I've had it drop from nodes in Cyrodiil, so it is possible to get it there. It is still a super low drop rate for it though.

Not sure if you've had an answer yet and I'm too lazy to read every comment to check, but...I found 1 ink in a backpack in Cyrodiil. It was the one by the mission boards at the EP North Gate. Haven't had one from a node or enemy yet.

Had drops from nodes in Cyro, from dremora in Bruma and Magister quest boss in Bruma.
Had drops from IC district mobs too.

Had drops from IC district mobs too.

I got one in the mushroom quest cave near Bruma. Not from the quest mushrooms, from a runestone or jewelry seam or maybe even the delve boss.

Not a problem for me.... I haven't missed a daily login for.... um. A long time (except for when I was REALLY ill in April - I did manage to log in on my first account NA all through that, but the rest of them .... nope).
