This is a reminder that the ranking system is bad at determining rank based on skill. This is a reminder that Sorcer-King cards were fiddled around with over and over and this type of thing is still possible.

Don't tank

"In future content we will probably adjust this model somewhat (The BOP model). It's definitely nice to be able to find a cool item that you don't need and trade it to someone who can't wait to get their hands on it." - Wrobel

That patron should function like the crow and only be active when you don’t have it turned to you. I’ve never been beat by it that bad but the race to beat the patron is crazy.

Orgnum is the reason I stopped playing against players. At a certain point it removes any need to actually play the game, unless an opponent pays equal attention to it, which shouldn't be necessary. It sucks all of the fun and unpredictability out of matches.

A simple solution would be to not give any power when it is in Favorable state and give more power at Neutral stage. As for Unfavorable stage, let players choose a card from CD or Draw pool instead of giving 2 power.

That would make the deck way too generic and also completely useless, the crow can generate a great deal of power if someone manages to pull lots of gold, I have personally generated over 30 power with crow, but for Orgnum, the power is based on number of cards, so basically it is useless if it functions like crow.

ToT would honestly be better if as a general rule, no Patrons could be used while in their Favored state.

Patron usage would become more strategic (like how usually we don’t immediately use Crow) and get rid of a lot of unfun strats…. especially stuff like Rahjiin and Orgnum spam.

Patron spam is some of the leadt fun gameplay. Even Red Eagle, Druid, Almalexia, Delmene, and Pelin can be abused this way in certain types of games.

They would have to completely redesign ToT to achieve this, but I do agree that it could make the game much more strategic.

Well numerous patrons already function this way.

I think small changes will be needed for sure, but certainly should not need a full redesign.
    • Duke of Crows: Already not spammable
    • Ansei: Already not spammable
    • Hlaalu: No changes needed.
    • St Pelin: No changes needed.
    • Mora: No changes needed.
    • Druid King: No changes needed.
    • Rahjin: No changes needed.
    • Red Eagle: No changes needed.
    • Almalexia: Might need some changes.
    • Orgnum: Might need some changes.

But that’s my opinion on it. I just think this would cut out a lot of unfun cheesy stuff and there’s probably only a few minor changes that need to happen as a consequence of it.
