Game keeps crashing within 10-15 minutes of logging in

GraysonPower
The game has started crashing every 10-15 minutes. Sometimes it's even minutes. My drivers are up to date, no addons installed, I have repaired the game multiple times, Uninstalled and reinstalled, windows up to date, you get the point. I even sent a support ticket to help get this issue resolved and that didn't work either. I don't know what to do other then to not play the game until I find an answer...

I have a similar issue. Time to crash is more variable, but it happens since 3 days ago, Before that, never had the issue. Also updated all drivers and followed the ticket instructions. Nothing helps.

I don't know if this completely works or not sense I just did this yesterday, but maybe try deleting your Elder Scrolls Online document folder and then play the game and let it make a fresh new one. Again, I haven't tested it enough to see if it works but I'm trying to keep in high spirit

I will do that in a few minutes but I also had an idea. I could give you a copy of my ESO files to see if there is something in them that is wrong or shouldn't be

I've done a game repair, I've tried with only a few addons. I feel like west weald is much mor prone to crash. I have also tried lowering video card settings (which shouldn't be necessary on my system). Sometimes I can play for only a few minutes and them sometimes its long enough that I feel its all working. After crashing I get a lot of errors about gamepad which I don't use. I do feel the new polymorph/mount combo makes it worse so I had to quit using those for now.

Also, these crashes happened since before U42.

Most of my crashes are at port to guildie or wayshrine or right after. Also, I do use the customized action (Accursed Recall) but I remember turning if off and still crashing.

Customized action has nothing to do with it. I'm crashing zoning in quite a bit. I crashed just loading the login screen today (not the first time). Will try with no addons. Also seeing the screen screwing up but almost only in West Weald (and now the character screen).

Have you tried going through the crash troubleshooting below?

What do I do if ESO is crashing with the error "ESO has stopped working"?

GPU Usage at character selection screen is 92%. In game, about 40-62%. loading screen less than 1%.

I also was having a LOT of crashes as well as UI errors, including gamepad as you mentioned. Disabling add-ons would sometimes reduce the crashes but not always. I would recommend trying what I found on the ESO sight in relation to these error codes: rename your AddOn folder AddOn.old and rename your SavedVariables folder as SavedVariables.old When you next run the game and log on with various characters, there may be UI errors regarding a nil value, just reload UI. If everything runs fine, you can start reinstalling add-ons (I suppose you could copy them from the old files, but I was concerned that something was corrupted and causing my problems).

So far, so good. I have installed minimal add-ons for the time being, at least until I feel confident everything is working as it should. I would not install Combat Metrics for now as it seemed to increase my UI errors and not behave as expected.

I have found that my crashing was due to the Intel processor I am using. I had similar issues with my i9-13900k and got it replaced by Intel. Well, I got a check back and I bought the i9-14900k. It wasn't until recently that I started having issues with ESO crashing (only ESO). Since I hadn't seen reported issues about the 14900k I thought it was just ESO. Come to find out, when I did the same steps I did to diagnose the 13900k issues I found the 14900k I bought has the same issues.

Basically, I have to disable cores 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 for ESO to be stable. I tested each core but it seems to be a combination of 2 or more of those first 6 cores being an issue. So for now I just disabled them. Eventually I'll process another RMA with Intel. The problem is there isn't a great option to replace my CPU with. Downgrading the CPU to a 1200k (or there abouts) might be more of a performance hit than disabling the bad cores on my 14900, Just a guess.

    TLDR...
Visit this page to get more info about the processor issues and how to use process lasso to identify the bad core(s). I am hoping that Intel will eventually come out with a fix. There is a lot of bad press lately regarding the 13900 and a14900k crashing games (just google that).

I currently have 16 logical processors and I don't really know how to do what you did

Here is what I did (using process lasso application)
Open PL and click on "Options", "CPU", "CPU Affinities".
I then opted for my process match to set to *.* (all applications).
Click Select and pick your processors. I started with half (the ones you can check). Add the rule and launch ESO and try.

This article has some info on setting the power settings for specific CPU's per Intel's suggestion...

Of course, do any of this at your own risk.

Thank you for sharing what the culprit was leading to your game crashes in ESO.
