No mudcrab chitin in West Weald?

I'll say up front I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it's something I've noticed.

Because I sometimes run out of mudcrab chitin, I make a point of killing all mudcrabs I come across. Usually I get a chitin every 3-10 mudcrabs. But I've killed many, many mudcrabs in West Weald and they never drop chitin. It could be RNG, but I thought I'd post about it, just in case.

Maybe these are soft shell mudcrabs with no usable chitin.

In general, I’ve seen that some mobs that appear to be named the same can drop different things depending on the zone. In Blackreach mudcrabs do not drop chitin either. But in the public dungeon there, durzog drop poison solvents, which they do not in (most) other zones.

Blackreach mudcrabs maybe I could kind of understand, because Blackreach is sort of a weird zone and maybe the mudcrabs are affected by the environment in some way. But if mudcrabs in Blackwood and High Isle and Vvardenfell and all the other similar zones drop chitin, mudcrabs in West Weald should. :)

The last (approx) 2 weeks I'm getting hardly any chitin in khenarthi's roost, as well.
Maybe they changed the drop rate globally by 0.001%, it really doesn't take much of an adjustment to make a big drop rate change.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.
