Before you add any new content to the game can you please please, for the love of Tamriel, take a couple of steps back and address the issue of class balance and identity in this game?

I understand that you overtuned the Arcanist to sell the Necrom DLC, but it's time to come back to balance. Now, I'm not necessarily calling for nerfs, I'm calling for an honest balance of damage, cleave, support, etc. Every class should be able to bring the same DPS and support to a group without feeling as though they need to roll an Arcanist to participate in end game content.

Why all the hate for Nightblades? Seriously. It's starting to feel as though someone calling the shots has a personal vendetta against the class. Our new class sets are about health and evasion while everyone else got damage focus. I didn't roll a rogue class so I could heal or mediocre tank.

The bulk of damage should come from class abilities, not weapon or guild skills. Those skill lines should be more about utility or as a situational basis, not meta builds for every class.

i agree the nightblade is really getting the shaft, along with wood elves as a race they under preform compared to every other race

Except NB's are seriously OP these days, and they keep getting buffed. NB is S-tier in ESO.

Ummm.... remember Redguard? Well, maybe ZOS thought the Redguard were getting lonely?

    ok, so

Nightblade, while they are a bit fiddly to get the hang of due to all the timers you've got the juggle, once you do they are S/A tier in almost every aspect.

if you want to talk class balance and idenity then i've got two stinkers for ya

1: necromancer as a whole needs a complete rework from the ground up to not be a gimick corpse based clunk fest as that clunkyness is the main thing holding it back.

2: stamina templar has a complete lack of class idenity beyond "Hi i'm magplar but without utility" which isn't an idenity, it's a lack of one.
wood elves as a race they under preform compared to every other race

Bosmer: +2k stam, +258 rec, +5% move speed, +950 pen, +2.3k poison and disase dmg resist, +3meter stealth detection

all in all not bad at all, a set bonus for resource, recovery, light armour passive for pen with 1 piece, enchant of resist a damage type twice and a free blue tier swift trait
soo...how exsactly do they underpreform compared to the other races?

    also lets not forget redguard
Redguard: +2K stam, 8% cheaper weapon abiltites, 1005 stamina every 5 seconds (equivlant of 402 rec but ticking 2.5 times slower, thus junk tier), 15% snare resistance (fairly sure this is bugged tbh)

so if anything it's the redguards that need help

While Wood Elves are not the best, they are not that far behind and they are not the worst. For PvP they really shine. Redguards are far far worse as others have already said, and in dire need of boost to their racial passives.

Are you strictly speaking from a PvP perspective? Because NBs went from one of the best ST DDs to being one of the worst. Cleave is also missing from the NB toolkit.

I can't remember if it was on these forums or reddit where I saw it joked that the only thing Bosmer are good at is dodging. /shrug :D

Why all the hate for Nightblades? Seriously. It's starting to feel as though someone calling the shots has a personal vendetta against the class.

ZOS seems to have a hard time finding ways to buff Nightblades in PvE while not making them even more powerful in PvP. It's a shame those two modes aren't balanced separately.

Arcanists dominate trial rosters. It's not just NBs not getting a look in as parse DDs in most organised trial groups now, but everything not firing green beams. I would love to be able to parse on my DK/plar/NB/sorc without being made to feel like it's a problem.

See, this is the interesting thing, and perhaps the biggest issue. Other games managed to find a way to have separate scalings for each mode, why can't ZOS?

You won't believe this, but if you look at what they're doing with the game, somehow balancing classes is clearly not in their plans

Because they precisely wanted different modes to have almost no difference / friction skill wise, but since different modes value entirely different things some classes are in a tough spot balance wise, being okay for most people but problematic for experienced and competitive players. Zos still don't want to commit with separation so there's constant back and forth with changes that wield no results.

The problem is everyone says their class is weak and all others are mostly broken.

You are the best example: NB dont get love? They are with sorcs the strongest pvp class atm.

I think the only thing everyone can agree on is that necros need some buffs.

There's more to this game than PvP. It's interesting to me that all of those saying the class is S tier or the strongest are those in PvP, and most likely have a hate for NBs as a result. The purpose of this post is to ask for balance for ALL classes in ALL content.

As for PvE, yes NBs are currently in a bad spot. And as others have mentioned it appears to be the result of the PvP side of things.

The reason I mentioned the NB is because that's the class I main and have experience with. I have since made a DK and I'm currently working on a Sorc, but I don't have enough/any experience on other classes to comment on. Others are free, and encouraged, to add their classes to this post.

I have seen plenty of posts and comments recently regarding the Necros, and I hear ya. It's frustrating that we as players cannot fully enjoy our preferred classes because of quick band-aid attempts at fixing things that ultimately cause more problems than actual fixes.
