Weird visual effects from one player

First time that I see it. Looks like a proc set or a specific skill where probably a visual effect was broken and replaced by these fuzzy red laser beams as shown in this image.

Happened yesterday during a mirrormoor incursion fight. Only happened once during the incursions that I did to level warrior guild.

It really looks terrible and my guess is that it is entirely unintented.

Maybe it was one of the new skill styles? Don't ask me what it was.

    Probably works as intended.

The Menders Bond skill has a script that makes it so your targeted ally, and any allies who cross the beam, have incoming damage redirected from them to you. That red beam is the visual of damage being taken from the target to the caster, similar to guard's visual, but with a unique line coming from all allies in the beam who are actively taking damage.

    Thanks for explanation.

It was just so outstandingly ugly and eye damaging that it did not fit ESO commonly deployed visuals so I thought it was a bug or so.

Wait, the red lines in the pic, that is a scribed skill EFFECT??

I thought OP had marked or highlighted the pic to point to what they were talking about?

If that is the effect "as designed" that looks like steaming poo? :s

If you've even seen the guard skill being used, the red beam indicating the damage transfer looks almost the same. The only difference is the scribed skill has a longer range, and since the script redirects damage from multiple allies, the red line can show up multiple times, depending on the number of people who are being effected by it.
