We have gotten other crafting materials, like Dreugh Wax, so I expect we'll get Luminous Ink from daily rewards eventually.

Inks have 1 Problem, either you need them permanent, if you use armory and change your build including scribing spells, which cost up to 3 inks each time per skill you use armory, OR you need them one time in a bigger quantity and the next few month you wont touch them anymore.

The actually design is something like "fire and forget" design without armory support.

That feels like a bug or oversight. It would be like Armory using up a skill point every time you swap builds if the builds use different morphs. I would file a bug report in game and make a post in the "Bug Reports" topic on forum. I bet that is not intended behavior.

I think the issue you hit with Ink is that in the short term the supply is lower than the demand but, in the long term that will likely flip.

If you look at a price graph, the price has already dropped significantly.

I'll take it the way it is thanks. I have a use for nearly everything in the daily rewards as they are now (except for the poisons) especially the XP scrolls - and I'm highly unlikely to use scribing enough to even use up the inks I'll have after running all my girls through the Indrik and Netch wings.

Scribing questline is fun; scribing itself isn't very useful in the way I play.

The problem with that is that this is also sort of a honeymoon period for scribing, and not being able to experiment much with it feels bad. A lot of people may do the quests, grumble about ink, and then set it aside as not very useful and not really look much at it even when ink availability is better.

Ink may appear as a login reward at some point in the future, but I'm not holding my breath because it's dependent upon the player having Gold Road. The stuff that drops for login rewards is stuff that people with only the base-game can still use (actual utility is a different question). If a time comes when scribing becomes accessible to base-game-only players, then inks will likely start showing up as login rewards. As it stands, we don't get jewelry platings as login rewards for the same reason, although it does make me wonder why they don't add one drop during free ESO Plus events.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

One unusual aspect of scribing is no quality levels. Like when game came out and people did not have 10 years worth of Kuta in the bank, you could make a blue or purple quality glyph and worry about crafting a gold quality glyph in the future. But there is no "cloudy ink" or "dull ink" or any equivalent to the white/green/blue/purple/gold quality tier. It may be that ZOS decided scribing was convoluted enough as it is and adding quality tiers would have made it more confusing. And I bet ink will have kuta-like prices after a while. But a crafting profession that is like no Ta and all Kuta-or-go-home has growing pains.

In 6 months Luminous Ink will be like blue quality tempers/platings. Taken for granted, minor surprise when you don't have one when you need it, and dirt cheap on the Traders. Why? Because after the initial wave of the "Gotta get my Scribe on!" mentality, players will hit a point where they may need a few ink once in a blue moon (ie.. kitting out a new toon). Demand will literaly vaporize, and the Traders will be backed up with Ink.

from what ive heard right now, scribing skills are not included in armory builds

so if you had a scribe skill on your bar and switched builds in armory, the scribe skill would be unchanged, you would have to manually go to the scholarium and adjust the scribe skill for the alternate build, and you would have to do the same when you swapped your armor build again if you needed a different combination of the skill

Instead of Crown Soul Gems maybe?

They don't stack with regular soul gems, which are easy to come by and cheap to get.

(Soul gems used to be leveled, and the Crown gems worked at any level, so they used to be convenient but are now worse due to not stacking.)

Actually, how about giving it as an endeavor award. They have done special currencies along with seals in the past, so it should be possible.

I'm sceptical about that: I don't recall any previous login reward containing chromium plating.

I hope they replace Crown Soul Gems, which don't stack with regular Soul Gems, which themselves only cost like 30g. It's more trouble than it's worth because you have to type DESTROY to delete them or send them to junk. Fingers crossed.

After my first thought that ink should be more available, now I think as well that ink will get much cheaper in the near future and the drop rate could be ok maybe a little bit better. You just don’t need as much as it seems on the first look. Apart from support roles and maybe a few PvP users ( I am not a PvP gamer have no clue if it gets used ) there is really not much useful in it . It gets allready more or less boring

I think future demand on ink depends on future scripts added to the game. If they keep adding them there will always be some demand for them but not like it is now.

it's not a bug & is intended. you're told about it when you equip an armory build.

It’s more than “a few” PVP players. Entire guilds can be seen using coordinated scribed skills any time you enter Cyrodiil these days. There are some extremely nice combinations people have come up with thus far, and the list is growing every day.

Speaking as a PVP main, being able to experiment more with the system would be great, as ink availability is NOT great when you aren’t one of the lucky ones blessed with decent ink RNG. Adding ink to the login system may help with ink supply a little bit, but a guaranteed drop of one ink per account per day would help much more.

They have plans to do this. From ZOS_JessicaFolsom on a Reddit thread a few days ago:
As we've noted before, we agree that the availability of Luminous Ink is lower than we'd like, and we are actively looking into ways we can improve that. Ensuring Luminous Ink drops off of boss monsters was one such step - this is live on PC and going out for console servers in tomorrow's incremental patch. What you see in this thread is another step. We are preparing to add Luminous Ink as a Daily Login Reward (not to the Crown Store) at some point in the future; keep an eye out for our usual Daily Login Rewards info each month.
