Level Restrictions to Learn Scripts

Anyone else come across Scripts that they can't learn on characters yet due to level?

I was doing the Mage's Guild Script Chase and grabbed some extras for my alt when I was surprised when I hopped on my level 34 alt that some were marked red and when I tried to use them you can see the error in the top right.

same thing is happening to me on my character I did the questlibe with. she is only 32 but I have not been able to use any scripts since finishing the quest.

The ones from the quest worked fine.

What are your Mages Guild and Fighters Guild levels?

I think I remember you need at least 5 to get the Grimoires. Maybe the same requirement applies to scripts?

Either that or Level 50 requirement.

I did all the Mages Guild scripts on my 20 characters without issues.

if that is so it would be nice if somewhere in the game zos would tell us this but there is nothing.

Interesting follow up to this I found today. Same character.

Tried using the Red Pull Script and got that error in the top right, but it let me learn the other Pull Script however.

Are the sources of the Scripts the issue here?

Also, I noticed that they have different sell values.

Figured out the level/script value discrepancy.

The Guild (Fighter's, Undaunted, and Mage's) quests and their subsequent rewards were the ones giving me the 28 gold, unlearnable by level 35 alt, Scripts. Also, the Premium Undaunted Rewards were also scaled, in terms of gold value with the character I completed the random with; my CP 160+ is 28 gold, while my alt of 25 or lower(I don't remember) was only 16.

I wonder if I had picked up the various mage's guild scripts on my lower level alt if that would have resolved the issue. Nonetheless, this is an interesting design choice.

This is more than the Mage's guild scripts. It started with that but other scripts suffer from this issue as well dependent upon source.

Problem is not fixed. Still picking up signature scripts that my level 30 character cannot use.

U43 will have all scripts dropped from coffers be level 1 with a value of 999.

Yes, it’s weird, but oh well, bank them for later or another character.
