Will we ever get to go into the castle next to skingrad or is it just there for being there because it would be fun to explore

    Apparently this time around it's just there to be there. ZOS apparently found no reason to give it an interior since the questline never warranted its use.

    Which to me is lazy.

    The fact they DID create an interactable character, Count Colantius, and then proceeded to have him operate out of an upstairs Loft for an "Office" instead of the Castle itself, is pretty lazy. And no Noble in their right mind would ever forego using their own Castle to conduct business.

    Yes, the castle not being accessible, added to the fact that many houses can't be entered, and there's a lack of lootable containers in general (based on recent threads I've seen), makes me think the new zone is one big facade. :(

    I was very disappointed when I found out the castle isn't accessible. I don't know why the devs decided it'd be this way, but it gives me the impression the zone is incomplete. It's a good thing my toon doesn't get tired, as I'd be very upset to climb all the way to the bridge that leads to the castle only to find out it's closed.

    Speaking of Count Coelacanth, I kind of expected him to dress a little... better. He looks more like an Imperial Hugh Hefner with that unimpressive robe.

    as far as i know ZOS has not said anything about the castle so it's possible they will still do something with it later in the year, but we do not know

    it really isn't very different compared to past dlc zones.
    a few locked houses isn't unique to West Weald. i believe nearly every dlc zone has only circa 10 houses to trespass.

    And besides those there's the usual Outlaws Refuge, mages guild, fighters guild, tavern, merchants, bank, usually 2 houses for quest characters, and religious building.
    Though that's just Skingrad.

    Gold Road has Ontus, Vashabar, and Sutch too.
    which also each have a few houses that you can enter.



    to my knowledge for farming lootable containers in the last 3 chapters:
    ● Gold Road, has Silorn, Rustwall, and Outcast inn.
    ● Necrom, the city has an abundance of urns we can steal from and urns in Sailenmora (that gets locked after its quest).
    ● High isle, has Gonfalon palace and Castle Navire.
    so it seems pretty similar to previous chapters

    This started with the Elsewyer zones. I was rather disappointed when this started occurring. House in the middle of nowhere that are locked etc.

    I’m convinced the this was a DLC zone and they repurposed it but not having the castle accessible is insane.Especially when there’s no Q4 zone you think the level designers would have time to actually fill out the one small area we got. Makes the zone feel all the more artificial when you can’t enter a building.

    q4 zones are teeny tiny compared to any chapter zone. we just dont have as much obstructing rocky terrain all over the zone like Summerset, Western Skyrim, and Elsweyr

    not having lootables and homes to enter sucks because the zone is beautiful and what we do have with skingrad feels very lived in compared to previous zones and cities
