Writs Can't Be Doubled Anymore?

Just checking if anyone else has experienced this since the most recent update: Previously, when picking up Writ quests on one day and completing them the next day, the Writs could be picked up again to complete them a second time for "today". This doesn't seem to be working for anything other than Alchemy Writs anymore.

Is this intended? Didn't see anything about it in patch notes, but perhaps I missed something. Thanks!

This is working if writs you picked up earlier are different from today's, you must have picked up writs some other day, that were the same as today, not yesterday.
All writs are on 3-day cycle, except alchemy, max level alchemy is 8-day cycle, that's why alchemy is working for you.

That's odd, but just to check: did you craft the items for the writs, and just didn't hand them in? Because for the double quest pick up to work on the same day you need to complete the objectives on the writs, ie. craft the things, otherwise if you just pick up the quest but not craft them, then when you craft them it will count as the completion for the day, and you won't be able to pick up another, if that makes sense.

Nope, the process I have been using to date that has worked with double turn-ins is as follows:

    1) Pick up all daily crafting writs (not sealed) for one day. Do not craft or turn in.
    2) Log in the following day. Craft writ items, turn in, receive rewards.
    4) All writs would then be available again from the "Equipment Crafting Writs" and "Consumable Crafting Writs" signs, showing the blue Daily Quest marker above each.
    5) Pick up all daily crafting writs (not sealed) for that day.
    6) Craft writ items, turn them in, receive rewards again.

I was able to do this reliably on all 7 of my characters until recently, so just curious if I missed a patch note that addressed this already.

    Thanks for the reply!

Did this change recently? As mentioned above, I have been able to reliably do this process until recently, and I haven't attempted double turn-ins within the last 3 days back-to-back.

No, it always worked like this.

No, it always worked like this.

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at it again in a couple days when I can try the double turn-ins once more in case this is a contributing factor.

As @EF321 said, you won't be able to pick up new writs today if the items you turned in today are the same items requested for today's writs, even if you crafted the items before today for writs that you picked up before today.

But if the writs for today request items different than the ones you just turned in, you will be able to pick up new writs today.

It has worked that way for years, and has occasionally come up in the forums a number of times over the years when players run into this and think there's a bug. We can't know for sure that this is what happened, but it is far and away the most likely explanation. It is almost bound to happen eventually to anyone who's in the habit of picking up writs before the dailies reset, but then waiting until another day to actually do the writs and turn them in, because if you skip a few days for some reason after having picked up the writs then it's likely that when you finally do them and turn them in they'll just happen to be the same items which are requested for today's writs. It happens to me quite often on my alts because I no longer do writs on them every single day, and some of them still have active writs that they picked up months ago.

I thought it was just as simple as: if there are any writs crafted before the current 24 hour reset period which match those requested in today's writ quests, those previous writs are regarded as pre-crafted.
Many of us take advantage of this by pre-crafting provisioning and alchemy writs months in advance, to make the daily writ procedure a bit faster and less tedious.

It isn't really a pre-craft verse craft day of situation. It is 100% only about the quest requirements. If the crafting quest you just turned in from a previous day matches the quest you would pick up on that turn in day, you will not be able to do it because it counts the previous quest as that day's quest.

It is why, for the Anniversary event, if you are going to pick up a day of writs in advance, you should always grab the quests the day before the event starts. If you do them multiple days in advance, you risk quests overlapping and locking you out from doubling up.

Also check your turn in times are matching the flip times for the server you are on.

Make sure to complete writs at least 10 minutes prior to flip and accept 2 to 3 after.

It's not the crafting that's the issue here, it's when you accept and turn in those quests.

For example say daily flip is at 2 am, and at 1:50am on the 1st of the month I login grab the crafting dailies and then get distracted and don't so them and flip happens. I can do those quests after that flip, and grab today's for a total of 14 in one day, so long as I get them completed by 1:59am on the 2nd
