Wayfarer's Mastery Signature Script for Traveling Knife

Looking at some of the signatures for the traveling knife and the wording for Wayfarer's Mastery seems like it is basically useless if I'm reading this correctly? I put pull on it so I throw the knife out, hits an enemy and the knife returns and anyone else the knife hits will pull the initial person and those other people hit, got that part. But when I put Wayfarer's Mastery on it reads "Enemies hit are susceptible to your Ruffian passive for 6 seconds" Ruffian passive reads: "While using Dual Wield Attacks Gives you a 15% damage bonus when attacking stunned, immobilized, or silenced enemies."

So if I use pull with ruffian with the traveling knife I obviously have to be using dual wield abilities and the target(s) must be stunned, immobilized, or silenced and I get a 15% damage boost, but if I'm already using dual wield and have the ruffian passive doesn't that render Wayfarer's Mastery completely useless or I am not understanding something here???

Once you pull the targets to you, they're no longer disabled because pull lasts for fractions of a second (just the travel time and a stagger, I believe) So once you pull a target, or use this on a boss that can't be pulled, you can get the benefit of that passive for 6 seconds.

So it makes it more of a setup skill--pull targets in, and then once the pull ends, you can still get that Ruffian bonus if you use Rapid Strikes or Whirlwind over the next 6 seconds. Normally, it wouldn't apply to targets you recently pulled, only ones you hit while they're being pulled, based on the description. It also makes this the only way to get the Ruffian bonus against a boss or other crowd-control-immune targets.

Perfectly explained tsaescishoeshiner! That makes sense to me now I didn't think about the pull interrupting the stun, immobilized or silence effects on them. So basically using pull you'd want to have wayfarer most likely where as if you do say bleed for the focus it still allows the targets to be stunned, immoblized or silenced giving the ruffian effect as normal.

yeah when it says "susceptible to the passive" it means the passive will function against that target which has that debuff on it

against a boss which is normally cc immune this is the only way to benefit from this passive

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

Just to be sure using this script essentially gives you a 15% damage buff whether or not the target is stunned, immobilized or pulled?

Or does it only apply if they have cc immunity?

So in pvp say I use this skill on someone and it hits but they are not cc immune do they have 15% more damage taken from all dw skills for 6 seconds?

keep in mind the 15% dmg increase only applies to dual wield abilities

Yes thanks, but that part I do realize otherwise it would be way overpowered. Thanks again for clearing that up, its worth using a ink once I get the right scripts for it!
