Can't get any more new inn rooms for free

As of today, on the EU server all of my existing toons on all of my (4) accounts show that they have all used the "Room To spare" Brochure, even the ones that never have used it, so I can't get any more free inn rooms. This was not an issue yesterday before the latest patch. For example, one account has 5 toons, 4 houses and 3 inns, so there should be 2 more inns I could get, but I can't because the room to spare brochure is ghosted for all the toons. This issue is replicated on all four of my subscribed accounts, at least in the EU. Also to note is that I play on both the EU & US servers, which never seemed be an issue. I haven't tried creating any new toons to see if the same issue occurs, but I really don't think I should need to and don't have a need for new toon at the moment. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Not quite the same experience, but I have failed to get the room on PC both NA and EU with the Room to Spare quest running. I get the dialog option that should complete the transaction, but then nothing.

Maybe your symptom is the fix for my problem? They’re just shutting the door at an earlier stage.

If the intent is that only a character created after the chapter purchase can get the inn room, that needs to be stated somewhere.

I think it might’ve been with AWA that people noticed that the free inn rooms no longer worked and I had to start buying them, but the Gold Road inn room worked fine for me using an older alt. What rooms were you trying to buy?

I was trying to get the Gold Road inn. I was able to get it before the patch and put it on all four of my US accounts on the US server, and then was trying to do the same on the EU server when I ran into that problem. It worked for three out of four EU accounts, just not the last one for some weird reason that I could not fathom, because as I said, I had five toons but only three inn rooms (and a few houses), and the toons I used to try to get the inn room had no inn rooms assigned to them.
I ended up just adding another toon to the account & got the inn room with no problem. It was just some odd glitch I guess - in a game this complicated, it's bound to happen. Just today I spent nearly two hours trying to get Mirri (and I don't even really like Mirri), but the game refused to find her. Eventually I had to use another computer and then it worked, albeit not very well.

I don't like the bugs, but I understand it comes with the territory, as (ages ago) I was a programmer for many years and there are just so many things that can go wrong when you're doing large scale stuff like this. I was just curious if anyone else had the same issue.

Thank you all for your feedback.

My recollection of this "issue" is that it depends on whether or not your alts who never got a free inn room have ever visited any of your properties, because the mere act of visiting an owned property would trigger them to get an achievement related to that property's classification (i.e., size or type), and earning such an achievement would interfere with their ability to claim a free inn room.

I might have that a bit wrong, but I do know that I ran into this "issue" before AWAs were implemented, so I don't think it has anything to do with AWAs. I used to create s new character with each chapter so I could get the free inn room, but for the last few years I've just purchased it for 3000 gold because I don't want to keep creating new alts just to claim free inn rooms when they cost less than a single character can earn by doing 1 day's crafting writs.

i thought i was screwed at first because i took the quest in Glenumbra (where all my toons start)....and then went to Skin to get room from her. can not do it that way because she will not even speak with you. so, i abandoned and took the quest in Skin...then was able to talk to her and get room.

It would be preferable if you could not start the “Room to Spare” quest if your character can’t complete it.

Galen is the one place I would want a free room at the inn and none are available
