Cooldown on Remnants of Cruelty

I just farmed 7 Remnants of Cruelty, merrily consuming them whenever I found one. Just to find out at the end that there's a cooldown on them and only the first one ever registered. But of course the others are gone from my inventory, too ...
1) WHY is ther even a cooldown? The grind already is unbearable with this chapter, so why put even more restrictions on the fragments?
2) NOWHERE, neither in the achievment nor on the items themselves is there any mention of this restriction. How the heck should I have known not to immediately consume them? How long is the cooldown? When is it save to consume the next one? Why is there NO information about this to be found anywhere? Am I to take a wild guess und waste a dozen of those things on finding out how long the cooldown is?
3) WHY, oh why, does it still consume the item itself? Why not display a "you cannot use this for another X hours" message and keep the item instead of destroying it? I've lost 6 of the fragments this way, and I don't get why.

So ... they don't even work the same way? There's a cooldown on Remnants of Cruelty, but none on the Remnants of Deception?

Though it's less about the lost items than the strange and untransparent system.
I've had the same problem with the class script scraps - forgot to read one and consumed it next day after I got a second one. Triggered the cooldown, lost one of the scraps ...
Ah, true, could be a bug - though then I hope it's not the Remnants of Deception that are bugged and by filing a report those get the cooldown, too ... XDOy. That.... must be bugged. Maybe bug report it as well as this thread here.

✭✭✭✭I ate 4 Remnants of Cruelty in a row after getting them within 20 or so minutes. They all registered properly.
Same with Remnants of Deception. I remember thinking it was weird that I got the same number. Ate them all back to back and they all registered fine.
If there is a bug, it is not a universal one. I'd suggest having Support look into what happened to your fragments.
ETA: There is no cooldown on Class Scraps either. I've eaten 5 in a row after a vet trial with no issue. I hope Support can figure out what's going on in your case.Edited by virtus753 on June 21, 2024 2:15AM2 -

Seems like it's not a bug with the fragments themselves but rather with the achievement. It only immediately updates for the first one, consecutive fragments take some time to register (independent from /reloadui and switching instances).
Tried it with Remnants of Deception, same behaviour, but in the end all 11 of the new ones registered, and so did the 7 Remnants of Cruelty, eventually.
