Enjoyed Scribing Questline

I just want to say that I really enjoyed the whole Scribing questline and dialogue. I found it was very thoroughly written and engaging and I know it will be enjoyable to do again in future. All the areas where beautiful.
It did take me around nine hours to complete including all dialogue listened to, most bonus dialogue and reading all lorebooks and notes etc along the way. I did run through delves without killing everything to save time.
I think some may complain it's too much but it adds a lot to the games immersion and was fun and once you've done it a couple of times it can probably be skipped through faster to save time as you already know it.
I think an amazing job was done on it. I haven't really got to trying the scribed skills yet but plan to.

I haven't completed it yet, but so far, I think it's really well done too.

The problem is -- and I feel this too -- that many players feel an urgency to complete it ASAP so they can get back to their primary interests, such as Trials or PVP.

Also, many enthusiasts play multiple characters and feel stress about some characters being suboptimal for a while. I think there's also some confusion about how much questing each alt might have to do. It seems it may only be the first quest in order to access the scholarium. Again, I feel this too.

I try to put it into perspective though. Like all progression systems in an mmo, it's meant to take time and the enjoyment is supposed to be found spending time with others while progressing. It's easy to lose sight of this.

Some things are definitely good about it story takes the cake, but I'm so disappointed with the grind and how we can't edit class skills, vampire etc. yet.

about 1 hour into it and I like it as well, dialogue feels pretty authentic and not contrived

I really enjoyed speaking with the luminaries, since I bought Dolby Atmos for Headphones and ESO sounds stellar with it on, so their voices were basically more 'around me' as if they were really beings of magicka - that and the voice acting is great.

I totally hated this quest line. I would rather redo the Psijic rifts or chase lore books all day for the Mage Guild.

i enjoyed the dialog and the quests, but not enough to run them again on every character unless im desperate to get more ink lol

Same. It felt like Starfield. Loading screen, loading screen, loading screen. It felt like a first test in automatic procedural mission design by some algorithm.

I thought they might have done that amassment of location changes deliberately to add to that "magical", cut-off-from-reality atmosphere intended; you know, like travelling through time and space, all across the continent, entering the luminaries' realms somewhere on the mainland, but finding yourself at a completely different location when leaving it again. All that.

I enjoyed it but had trouble understanding the entry and exit symbols. The dragon one was the worst except for the bug at the end but finishing it was great and the end result is awesome. All the lit up lines from the altar to the wings was spectacular because it was my work that made it happen.

I really enjoyed the scribing questline, the characters, dialogue, and voice acting. I especially appreciate that whether or not the character has completed the Mages Guild questline is recognized! I first did the questline on my Arcanist, who has done outside Necrom but is naturally continuing with Gold Road. Now also just starting the scribing questline on my character who has done the most in the base game and the different dialogue made me super happy!

Had a lot of fun with this questline and greatly enjoyed the different personalities of the Luminaries (yes, even you, Netch - now bugger off!

).

The tests were a bit grindy, and I abhor being sent back to Reaper's March (hands down the worst zone in all of ESO), but I really liked the whole "pick your chores from a list" concept.

I don't mind the quests "reusing" old content, it's what I like about the chapter starting quests - revisiting old places I have little to no reason to go to anymore. Well, again, other than Reaper's March. Can we please find a Deadric Prince to absorb that zone, already?

The new places were beautifully made, and I love how fleshed out the whole thing was. Not just a short "here's how to do it, now leave me alone" introduction, but a whole questline with quirky NPCs, interesting new locations and lots of new background story.

(Btw, I always advise people to speak with NPCs at different stages of a quest, not matter if they have a quest marker over their head. ZOS goes into so much detail with their dialogs, offering a host of lines that most people speeding through the content or not knowing those additional lines are there will never get to read.)

Update. On Jun4th after finishing the Wing of the Dragon, I said I enjoyed the questline and I did till the end. I had not done the Wing of the Crow.

I am now of the opinion that I will rarely use this skill for I deem it worthless and hated the fox so much I don't ever want to see another fox in the game.

I will kill them on sight.

I loved the whole thing. I'm not really very interested in scribing itself, but the quest line is how quest lines should be! More in a similar style please ZOS!

I loved the story--look out for the Our Story books that show up in the Scholarium as you complete the wings. All four stories read in order is one of my favorite lorebook collections in the game.

Yes, the books from that collection were the best lore books I read I a long while. If we ignore the tedious "ward dispelling" part of the questline, this questline is definitely the highlight of the chapter IMHO.

I could not *possibly* agree more with this entire post. Well said. Its so much easier than me writing a novel, which no one is going to read anyways but I digress. The quests themselves were quality, can tell much love went into them however I do kind of wonder if the quests were not overblown on scribing when some of that talent could have been used elsewhere.

Due to the extreme haul to push thru these quests, it would be a hardship on me to try and send my alts thru, very much the same as the Psijic quests. Hopefully there will at least be a Crown Store solution for us to add the altar and doors to our alts if necessary.

You only need to re-do the initial "find the Scholarium" quest on your alts to have all the Scribing benefits. It takes less than 10 minutes, but you still have to unlock scripts for each char. All the Wing unlocks are account-wide, including Ink drops and Mages Guild scripts. I think one Wing gives you a few free scripts for completing it, so that's it.

They made some QoL improvements for alts on PTS before it released--I find the scripts are coming along for me, I just wish they were much easier to purchase. If an alt needs a script for a build I want, and I've already unlocked that script, I'd like to have it in one day and not have to RNG farm it or wait for it at the vendor.
