Dressing Room messed up after update?

I updated all add-ons before playing. Nothing seemed to be out of order until I needed the Dressing Room. All presets are messed up: question marks in places of some of the skills, some skills in wrong spots, some skills are present that I did not put there at all. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Why are you still using Dressing Room when the Armorer can perform it's functions and more? I quit using Dressing Room sometime ago.

The Armory system cannot do everything these add-ons can. It cannot do anything for you in vet leaderboard content, since Armory assistants cannot be summoned once the timer starts. Many players rely on add-ons to swap between various trash and boss setups seamlessly in the middle of vet trials.

It’s also a relative waste of armory slots to use them for skills, gear, and CP alone when an add-on gives that free and with far more slots available to use. Add-ons also swap things much faster.

They are not mutually exclusive, though, and complement each other well. I use Armory slots to store whole builds (different attributes, mundus stones, curses, morphs), and then add-ons like Dressing Room (and now Wizard’s Wardrobe) to change setups for gear, skill, and CP changes within each build.

Arnorer is usefull for changing roles. But not for CP change and gear for pvp/pve trash, boss, trials, dungeons. I have settings for some trials where I changing gear and skills between bosses and trash. That is not for Armorer.
Op should change for something what have still support for example Wizard Wardrobe.

Isn't Armorer is the same as Armory but mobile? As in "you can only save as many presets as you bought armory slots"? If so, I'd rather stick to free slots. Besides, Armorer cannot be used in some places where I need a quick change. For example, in IA.
(I do not do Trials or leaderboard content).

Edit: I do use the Armory as well. But I have only 3 slots: 2 for the IA and one for the outside of it. Useful since slotted CP and Mundus are very different.

Thank you for the advice. I will definitely take a look at Wizard Wardrobe. This is the first serious issue with Dressing Room that I experienced since I started using it.
The bad thing is that I do not remember half of the my presets and now they are all messed up.

IA has a leaderboard. Anything that gives you a score counts as leaderboard content.

Code has a fork of dressing room from 2018 that they have updated and works for the current patch. Sadly, I’ve been using the Stonethorn version of dressing room (I suspect you have, too) and that’s not updated yet. If this version isn’t updated in a few days, I’ll swap to Code’s version, suggest you do the same! I tried WW once and it looked a mess compared to DR.

I'll have to do the same, my Dressing Room main window is also full of '?'s.
[edit] I just uninstalled Dressing Room for Stonethorn, and installed Dressing Room 2018 which (despite the name) was just updated by code65536 for Gold Road.

I stopped using it year ago when it starts randomly meesing with presets. Instead of skills just Question marks and then /reloadui? No thank you and find working version in a mess of different versions?. Then I tried Bandit Gear Manager but I ended with Wizards Wardrobe.
But BGM is more for RP I think because it can change appearance but WW is working with CPs, buff food, gear, skills, auto sritching....

Yes, that is why unfortunately Armorer does not work there. I was actually considering buying it because I was fed up with the Goat side portal removing the Steed stone from the build (so I have to port out to use the Armory every time to restore it). It's good that I asked on the forums before buying it.

Yes, I use the Stonerhorn version. I'll wait a bit and, if it's not fixed, will switch to Code's version.

Here's some important information for those thinking of following the advice laid out in this thread:

Be damned sure to write down, screenshot, or otherwise copy your builds from the Stonethorn version BEFORE installing 2018.

Don't ask me how I know that (he said, as he seriously considered just quitting the game).

For reasons known only to ZoS, they decided to not allow half the benefit of add-ons when they released the Armourer and it isn't usable once a trial or dungeon starts.

Thanks for the tips about the other version of Dressing Room! It isn't just the question marks - many skills have changed. I think it is to do with how ZoS changed the ids. It has kept the gear sets fortunately.

And no, not swapping to WW. Tried it and hated it. And heard too many people complaining about WW messing up changing their gear, or changing it at the wrong time etc etc.

I use Dressing Room 2018 and I hear it's useful even for people who don't have permanent glow issues. Idk why but I didn't even know there was another version of it. I've never had any bugs with it.

I use the armory guy Gargarosh (I've no clue how to pronounce his name and I never heard anyone say it in game), he's very useful. I saved a tank build, a dps build, and an empty build to make more builds with. But Dressing Room (2018) saves from the grim focus glow. There I have overland, proper/single target dps, so-called aoe dps which is just dungeon nonsense but I like the spinny animation (whirlwind) and speed boost (path of darkness), and also a gear setup for maximum sneaking things, which is really handy. All those can be swapped between with a keybind, so it's super fast compared to Gargarosh, who, btw, is one of the smartest people in game. He's always like, "do better and then you stop dying so much". Thanks buddy, I'll try to remember that.

I think what happened is that ZOS changed the ID numbers in the skill lines that had skill styles or scribing skills added to them. If you can figure out what the skill was supposed to be and re-add it, it stays fixed. The mappings seem to be static and generally moved up one in the skill list. I noticed trap beast mapped to expert hunter, blade cloak mapped to whirlwind, entropy mapped to magelight, caltrops mapped to rapid maneuver. The ones that went to question marks were harder to figure out but once I figured out the swapped skills it was easier to reason out what would have been there.

If this theory is correct the bad news is that whenever ZOS adds more skills/styles (not sure the culprit) and changes the ID numbers again we'll have the same problem unless the addon author uses the PTS to figure out what modifications need to be made and has an update ready for when the game update rolls out on live.

Note: I'm calling the references to different skills "ID numbers" because I haven't done add-on dev work and don't have the proper terminology. They might be proper unique ID numbers, indices in an array, straight up pointers... idk. The point is what used to reference one skill now references a different one, or nothing at all.
