Same issue here. Around 2-3 weeks ago on PC EU went from instantenious load screens when loading in dungeons to 10-15 second loading screens (which is a lot, especially if you run timed HM content). No settings were changed

ZOS is aware and while many people are trying to set the history to a certain amount of time in user settings I don't believe that will matter. I will have to wait for update 42 and patch notes, but it has been mentioned that categories set to 30 days or 180 days when set to a lower setting will be treated as 30 or 180 days depending on the category going forward.

Also on the PTS and after update 42 there will be logging. You won't have to have any theory of how long it takes, it will be in the log.

Also ZOS mentioned that the cache is not saved going through a door unless doing so also triggers a load screen. As far as I know, a load screen isn't only when you go through some door and the background changes and the spinning dragons appear. I believe there is other criteria but I'm not developing the game so I don't know.

It also makes me chuckle when I see people say, "from instant or 5 seconds and now it's 20 seconds... OMG it's unplayable!" With my system it takes 3 to 5 minutes for a load screen depending on what I'm doing.

Then people will revert to simply deleting the cache files regularly, if that is the case. If ZOS is really going through with this, they will be somewhat counteracting the purpose of the cache themselves.

Good to hear, is this already live on the PTS? I only saw the patch note, that they changed the location for the cache files.

True, but doesnt change the fact, that there are (quite a lot) doors where it DOES go into loading screen

I would hope they would either rename or backup the files instead of deleting them.

    EnableGuildHistoryLogging in user settings.

    EnableGuildHistoryLogging in user settings.

Please @Sharlikran can you explain how to EnableGuildHistoryLogging in user settings?
I am so sorry, I can't find how to do that.

However, another easier way to edit the UserSettings.txt file as explained here in Option 2 "Search for entry SET GuildHistoryCacheMaxNumberOfDays_trader "30" (this is the default value) - Change this to a lower value (e.g. 7)" by @erdbeerheld is to easily edit these LibHistoire settings... obviously only for players who have installed this Addon!!

Not sure if this is related to addons at all or just the ingame code but something else related to the new guild history has been discovered..

MANY are experiencing brutally long 15-20sec delays using watshrines or porting in general due to the below setings in usersettings.txt.. The following changes fixes it.
    SET GuildHistoryCacheAutoDeleteLeftGuilds "1"
    SET GuildHistoryCacheMaxNumberOfDays_ava_activity "7"
    SET GuildHistoryCacheMaxNumberOfDays_activity "7"
    SET GuildHistoryCacheMaxNumberOfDays_milestone "7"
    SET GuildHistoryCacheMaxNumberOfDays_trader "7"
    SET GuildHistoryCacheMaxNumberOfDays_banked_currency "7"
    SET GuildHistoryCacheMaxNumberOfDays_banked_item "7"
    SET GuildHistoryCacheMaxNumberOfDays_roster "7"

    Pasted from this comment

    :):):):)

    EDIT:

Checking add-on folder I noticed that GuildHistory moved by default to add-ons in documents folder.
By default now is the following: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\GuildHistory

    :)

Same problem here. It started happening after the update adding the 2 new dungeons.

It's under the pts folder in UserSettings.txt but we may have to wait for update 42 to see how it affects the live server.

I do not experience that delays while zoning but since the guild history was introuced in the new cache binary files I alwas have my computer kind of "stuck for 30s" after I close the eso64.exe file (only after having really logged in a character to the world and playing).

Not sure if this is related to the guild history files though. Could not find anything in the Windows logs or event logs, but it only affects eso64.exe file, no other game or tool got that problems.
Antivirus and other tools all do not block access, or run scans after the file closes.

Maybe a coincident (but it only started after the Guild History files were enabled at the live server -> EU) , or did anyone of you experience the same?

I very recently started having these as well.
Long loading screen used to be the case before, as game been always saving a couple of savedvars from addons between loading screens, and if it happened to be a big one, like LibHistoire (which for me used to be 400mb+) or MM (30-50mb) and other with large savedvars file size, it would take a long time. In fact, when my LibHistoire got big enough, it would sometimes just disconnect me from server due to timeout while trying to save it.

But now it's definitely something new, worse and more frequent than it ever was.
Once guild history cache was "fixed" I stopped deleting all caches twice or so a week, and now those are almost full (limits are lowest possible in LibHistoire, 30 days for traders is one with most events), I definitely only started experiencing loading issues this bad just recently. Can't confirm or provide any evidence yet, but it does seem so far that size of cache could be it.

Happening to me too in NZ. I just thought the newest patch was causing issues with our distance issue. Glad to know it isn't only me. 1 minute plus loading going through doors in trials, dungeons and arenas. Game is unplayable with groups. I've tried everything including a new computer and internet. Going to try this today and see if it works.

Is this resolved with the recent patch, or should I still point people who complain about it in chat to erdbeerheld´s solution?
