Consistent Stream on Twitch of PC NA Grey Host EP zone chat - How is this being allowed

There's been someone sitting somewhere in Cyrodiil PC NA Grey Host and live-streaming EP's zone chat on Twitch for essentially anyone else who isn't EP to read. They don't even hide under a different category. Isn't this is a huge form of cheating/griefing? @ZOS_Kevin

ZOS has stated in the past that "spies" and other methods of intel are explicitly allowed in Cyrodiil. You wanna log into a faction and feed your friends on a different faction all the conversations in Zone Chat? Go right ahead - ZOS 100% allows it.

Besides, Zone Chat really doesn't have extremely useful information. The strongest groups in Cyrodiil are likely in Discord or group chat anyways.

Dang they're still doing this? There was a thread a couple of weeks ago about it too.

Ik there's always been spais. It comes with the aspect of AvA gameplay. It's the fact that they sit in Cyrodiil and stream it on twitch. If they wanna do stuff like, they almost always keep it private.

I contacted Twitch support, and they don't have any issues with this exploit. It's all a joke at this point, I'm barely playing the game nowadays. Just logging in to get the daily rewards, and that's about it.

Then EP should be doing what all good armies who know their communications are compromised would do:

    (1) Fill the EP zone chat with lots of misinformation to deliberately mislead the other alliances who are listening in.

    (2) Use alternate channels of communication for passing along the real intel to their soldiers, such as group chat or Discord.

Since I'm not a nice person, invective and talk that will get u banned on twitch would be my choice. Not that I suggest this but its tempting.

As a spai, 100% promise there is no actionable intelligence to be found in any faction zone chat.

People watch it to see certain zerglords arguing and having meltdowns, or to see if players are salty after a loss.

It is allowed as are all the streamers on Twitch. For sure, the focus is to show EP zone chat solely but as anyone knows this same happens when a streamer streams zone chat while playing. Yes there are streames that block or blur the zone chat but not all.

Before Twitch, players were sharing information with friends on other alliances. It's not unique to any one faction and is very accessible for anyone interested. The powers that be have let that and much more be played out in Cyrodiil. Now, does it make any of this morally correct? That is a different discussion altogether.

Addons especially make it easier to directly share what is said (even in tells). There have been many times I have seen someone attempting to share information with another player or guild and they inadvertently share it with the zone they are currently in. (Of course, sometimes this is done deliberately as well).

As Minnesinger mentioned, some streamers already share their screens and zone chat is in full view. I do not know the "rules", but as far as I am aware, they are not required to cover any part of their screen if they do not wish to do so.
There are so many words and "expressions" put on display for viewers to see as it is.

Viewing zone chat is nothing new. Again, streamers are able to do this and have for quite some time. Even within the game, there are players who have alternate accounts and this is also allowed. We have a campaign that is supposed to be "faction locked", yet they still play on multiple characters because they have multiple accounts. As xylena_lazarow pointed out in another post, there is someone who is utilizing an alternate account to retrieve scrolls from one faction and deliver them to another.

Streamers have (again, as far as I know), the right to display their screens during gameplay as they see fit.

If ZoS or Twitch were to ban the player sharing the zone chat, they would have to ban other streamers that share this and other explicit words and actions. I do not think any of us want that.

I have always looked at it like this; zone chat is like anything done or said in a public realm. If you do not want what you say or do to be heard or seen, do not say or do it in public. Always expect someone to be listening or watching on every faction.

As far as fairness goes and promoting a healthy competitive environment in Cyrodiil, I gave up on that long ago.

Now, I just try to enjoy it for what it is, with the understanding that there have always been players who will share zone information, deliver scrolls and hammers to your opposing faction, exhibit toxic behavior, exploit, etc. As much as I disdain the expression, "it is what it is".
