I don't go into Cyrodil at all, I don't do anything related to the thieves guild and I don't know enough people willing to do trials...

Which means I can't finish the quests for the gryphon.

Not the greatest quest design I've ever seen...

    You don't need these

    Kill boss in any delve
Collect some flowers in zombie area in the east
Pickpocket from npc Corrupt Merchant (I found one in Nimalthen)

Pickpocket from the corrupt merchant in the Rift. You don't need to be in the Thieves Guild to do that.

But you're the one restricting yourself.

Also I don't remember going to cyro, thieves guild or trials while I finished the quest.

You can choose any of the three quests to complete. You choose to make pvp related complaint. There is a fail but not the one one might think.

you need to complete 3 of the challenges and it gives you like 7 or so options to choose from

the 2 ive done (for various wings) that did say to go into pvp zones didnt even require actual pvp (one was for a cyrodiil delve and one was killing NPCs in IC)

i would say i do kind of wish the journal entry for the quest clearly stated all the possible objectives you can do, instead of trying to decipher it from the lorebook entry

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Yeah it's a problem. I personally refuse to do thieving, dungeons, trials, pvp, questing, housing, harvesting, crafting, or combat. Where are my options?

In all seriousness though, there are a bunch of options to compete these quests. One is going to have to be willing to engage with the game in some way though. I appreciate that they added some options for people who might be bored of overland. That does not mean one has to choose those options (I completed all of the scribing quests without going to Cyro, the Thieves' Guild, or doing a Trial).

I found the first corrupt merchant in Riften fairly easily. The other two are not in evidence on a cursory look through. The other towns are Shor's Stone and Nimalten. Good luck. I'm gonna try Cryodiil as I'm too impatient to wait for them to show up.

I went into cyro for one. Note it does not require pvp at all if you are stealthy, but the crystal never spawned in the DC spot. I believe I was in Ravenwatch. So watch out for that

Yeah, when I was doing the Gryphon, I noticed that they picked things that could conflict with how some people play the game.

I don't like the 'daily endeavor' stuff, anyway. It seems like they are reaching by adding this sort of thing. I hope that idea ends rather quickly.

Hmm. So.... does one absolutely NEED to do the Gryphon's quest line? I don't know about the Cyro part ('cause I haven't read up on it - but if it's not actually pvp I could maybe do it) but trials is right out; TG.... I don't do - but is it something not dependent on the whole questline?

All four of the luminaries are needed to unlock the final luminary, but I don't think it is required. There will just be a limited use of the scribing skill. Gryphon unlocks focus scripts as possible rewards from daily delve quests, daily Mages Guild quests, and PvP Rewards for the Worthy.

The Cyro part is not PVP. It is going to a location in Cyrodiil where there will be a PVE encounter with stationed NPCs and then interacting with a target item. As it is Cyrodiil, there is always the chance someone from one of the other two Alliances will come along and waste your time by killing you and making you respawn at some keep.

Ah. Well, thanks for that explanation.

Honestly? I don't care anything about scribing itself; I just want to enjoy the questline and the luminaries.

Your option is that you don’t get to do scribing which requires those - or not

    Hope that helps

You don't have to do PvP or even PvP zones to get any of them. It is pick 3 out of the 7 as noted above, not do all of them.

Haven't been Cyrodil at all for the gryphon one, did the pickpocket one, picked some flowers and killed a delve boss all in Rift

I don't do Cyradil, I don't do PvP, I don't do trials. I pretty much solo the game.

There have always been 3 options that I could complete. Sure I had to put a few points into ledgerdemain, because I do not usually pick pocket. but all you have to do to open the chest in Rawl'ka to while Hidden while picking to the lock. So that's 1 chest, then you go pick the flowers, and come BACK to Rawl'ka, where the chest has reset now, and pick the same chest again.

There are enough options for even the most solo adventurer can complete enough tests to move on.

I have a nice new two seater horse to prove it. The HARD part
is killing the final monster of the last door

Dunno if they fixed this, but people were griefing the ghost, spamming it into cooldown or even killing it so others couldn't finish the quest. Has a long respawn time, and a long cooldown between RNG pickpocket attempts. Garbage gaming experience, 0/10.

I think that the real isn't isn't how easy they are, or how wide the variety is, at all. It is that we had to do daily endeavors as part of the quest line. It felt like "filler". Packing peanuts. Styrofoam.

We will see if ZOS does this again. Questing in MMOs tends to be busy work, but this unrelated stuff was a bad choice.
