Rourken Steamguards Lead [Lead Spoiler] - Savior of the West Weald completion.

Confess I'm a bit frustrated and sad about getting the final lead I need for the Rourken Steamguards, which comes from the last boss in the trial Halls of Fabrication.

Now, I've been playing ESO since launch and I've never set foot in a trial, but fair enough I'll give it a go. However I discover that, not only is HoF one of the more fiendish trials with tricky mechanics and therefore not exactly noob friendly, but it seems no one is running normal HoF these days at all. Not on PC EU at least.

Apart from the main storyline, I've finished everything I need for Savior of the West Weald, including having to try an Arena which I've never done before, didn't really want to do, didn't enjoy but I did it (never again) and this last lead is annoying me. I get it, ZOS want us to try all parts of the game but making noobs join difficult trial groups is a terrible idea. I regularly search in 'Looking for Group' and there aren't any HoF groups, and anyway all the trials available are for Vet. I really don't want to do Vet. No one, least of all me, will be happy with what ensues. I realise I could join a trials guild but I would feel uncomfortable joining guild just to run HoF which I'd then leave after I'd found the lead.

I realise the lead might turn up on Filer Ool eventually but I just have to cross my fingers for it and I can't believe it's going to be any time soon.

I feel a little put out that not only am I supposed to take part in content I'm really not keen on, but it's not even for one of the easier trials and I can't even get into the correct trial anyway.

Grrrr. Sorry.

Even with Group Finder, this lead is definitely less friendly towards people who don't usually do 12-person content (for their own good reasons, whatever they are).

That said, it's worth noting that there are a lot of players in your position who also need the lead and are joining nHoF trials out of their comfort zone/usual playstyle. I think it's fine to join a guild for social content and that might be a much easier way to do it. I don't think a big enough guild would even notice if a newer member left.

Normal should involve fewer mechanics--I'd recommend reading a guide or watching a video first, not because you HAVE to, I just find it helps me feel like I can contribute better and understand what I'm doing. A lot of those will be guides for vet, so there will probably be mechanics you can skip or execute much more sloppily.

Maybe the leader or guild will be explaining everything in group chat, but I'm not sure. Good luck with the lead!

in normal you can basically burn through all of the mechanics, joined a pug normal HOF group the other night and there were no wipes, over half the group was under 1000 cp, and we probably finished in under 30 minutes (i didnt track exactly how long it took, but it was super fast)

most of the bosses we flat out ignored mechanics for because they died so fast

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Thank you for this reassurance. It does genuinely make me feel less irritated about the whole thing, but I can't actually find an HoF normal to join. :\

Start one and mark yourself as a DPS. When it fills, just say "let's go". Then follow the tanks.
