    Yeah, this NPC rumour interval needs to be changed.. to something like 10 minutes as it is currently something like 5 seconds. Superannoying if one is trying to use the bank/other services in Daggerfall

    If only he could find that hero. He'd buy him a drink!

    I have NPC conversations show up in my chat. If I'm crafting in Daggerfall, it's worse than the goldspammers. I'm a very peaceful, paragon-path sort, and always did my best in Skyrim not to bring any harm to NPCs if I could help it. I will admit, though, that if and when the Dark Brotherhood is introduced, I will join it without hesitation if those two are ever eventual marks.

    Yet here, Laertes! aboard, aboard, for shame!
    The wind sits in the shoulder of your sail,
    And you are stay'd for. There; my blessing with thee!
    And these few precepts in thy memory
    See thou character. Give thy thoughts no tongue,
    Nor any unproportioned thought his act.

    Be thou familiar, but by no means vulgar.
    Those friends thou hast, and their adoption tried,
    Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel;
    But do not dull thy palm with entertainment
    Of each new-hatch'd, unfledged comrade. Beware
    Of entrance to a quarrel, but being in,
    Bear't that the opposed may beware of thee.

    Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice;
    Take each man's censure, but reserve thy judgment.
    Costly thy habit as thy purse can buy,
    But not express'd in fancy; rich, not gaudy;
    For the apparel oft proclaims the man,
    And they in France of the best rank and station
    Are of a most select and generous chief in that.

    Neither a borrower nor a lender be;
    For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
    And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
    This above all: to thine ownself be true,
    And it must follow, as the night the day,
    Thou canst not then be false to any man.
    Farewell: my blessing season this in thee!

    Strange how a single line can become so annoying when it's being repeated over and over. It's kinda becoming art in itself yet again.

    In fact I timed the interval for the "Some stranger saved king Kasimir's life" NPC speech pattern. It is repeated every 28 seconds. Someone needs to tone that down a LOT. 10 minutes would be preferable.

    "Oh really? Who was it? I'd like to buy that hero an ale."

    This is gonna be a test as to how much ESO someone plays. Begin with 'Did you hear' or 'You know that old saying..' and if they can't finish the line verbatim, they've been playing too much Real Life.

    How about the high elf and khajiit in elden root? "Did you hear about the madness in southpoint? My sister says they're building houses out of mudcrabs!" "and how would that work exactly?!? they'd skitter away! Don't believe everything you hear!" Then a couple seconds later, repeat, and so on so forth...

    That's now an inside joke between my partner and I... so..friggin..annoying xD

    well the best random statements have been from the gate guard in audiron - two phrases I hear. One is "If you question the cause we will have to question you." and the rarer, "want to loose 10lbs of ugly fat, I'll chop off your head for you."

    The banker has the most annoying high pitched dialog of them all though. "Do you know the old saying "neither a borrower or a lender be"? Rubbish! For how are we to do anything without borrowers and lenders? But pardon me, welcome to the bank of Daggerfall. .."

    The "Ranser" speech is the quote at the end of a quest using the NPC's voice. To me, it just signals that someone else has just completed that particular quest. hurrah. Now, if only they would limit the distance it can be "heard" from the quest location. The "Oblivion" ritual prayer is the same thing, though I suspect it's telling you that another Anchor has opened in the land. I'd like to think that we are all "Vestiges" of the same soul completing the same quests :D

    Didn't they fix another quest that was broadcasting this way?

    The Ranser one can be heard from miles away, and there are others like that. Hopefully they'll get them all fixed eventually.

    ETA: Found the patch notes. "Legacy of Baelborne Rock: Tanchim now yells at only you when interacting with the rune, instead of everyone in the region, including most of Daggerfall City."

    My personal favorite... if you go into the Tavern in Koeglin Village (Stormhaven) and stand by two guys talking you will hear them say:

    "That blacksmith...I would like to stoke her forge" (in ref to the female blacksmith in town)

    And

    "that knight....she sure fills out her armor well" (in ref to the lady knight in the stockade in town)

    In the game I trust. Otherwise the word 'slightly' needs changing. :)

    They need to make 'hear npc chatter' a toggle or let us set a timer.

    And they most definitely need to stop all the random booming voices in town doing the Oblivion summoning. All the f'ing time in some places. We need to be able to switch that off.

    It's so annoying being in Shornhelm, Rivenspire for too long. I've heard quite enough of Ranser, that man mad! Ugh! Everytime I leave an area because of some annoying never ending voice over, it happens again in the new area. I wonder what repetitive voice overs await me in the Alik'r Desert.
