Mount/Horse speed seems same.

Is it just me or have ESO programmed game so mount/horse doesn't go any faster with press/hold down sprint button???
For me it's feels like speed is same no matter if i press/hold down sprint button or not, which is [ Shift ] on keyboard.
My riding skills is on max as you can see in this image.

Before the Gold Road/West Weald DLC was added, it felt like mount/horse was faster by sprint.

I am trying to work out if this is a trick of the mind, or if it is actually something that has altered speed.

I veer towards the former however.

My own mount is as fast as it is possible to get, you see, with all riding lessons complete, Major Gallop from the passive skill, and an additional 10% from champion points.

And I am, as ever, riding ahead of everyone.

Yet it feels slower but i think this is down to the animations now being so much smoother. It somewhat reminds me of how speed is portrayed in various racing and flight games I have played over the years, and there were some in which things were so smooth, it looked slow, even when it wasn't.

If this is what is happening here, I am not qualified to say for certain. But it is the hunch I have.

I also noticed this but not sure if it's really the speed or the animation changed.

I'm not sure if it's just the animation of them running that makes you think it's slower . As they have made the mount have it look more like a glide step

There is an addon ( can't remember the name of it ) that actually shows in real time the speed % of movement

I've no idea what ''smoother'' is, but my experience now is animations/effects of sprinting doesn't do mounts faster,
the character camera just zoom out a little to TRY make me feel there is speed when sprint. Feels like sprint features is deleted. I think it's same speed as when you not sprint. Before the Gold Road/West Weald DLC was added to game, my experience was definitely that mount's sprint was speed/faster. ESO should change it back.

Both Minimap by Fyrakin and Bandit UI can show speed. The minimap can do it in %, m/s, or ft/s. Bandit UI does it in cm/s.

The speed of the mount has not changed.

I tried horse run vs horse sprint and sprinting is still working, it’s just harder to notice because the animation is fixed now and the FOV doesn’t increase dramatically. You can still notice your speed going up though if you just focus on the speed of the landscape going by. Its a trick of the eyes.
