Scribing: Very confusing - please help!

There is so much confusion on several levels - one of which is what dailies drop a script ?

We know Mages Guild, Fighters Guild etc drop them..

but then: the Blackwood (Leyawin) daily drops but the Summerset (Alinor) daily doesn't....

the Fargrave/Deadland daily does but then the Vvardenfell ones dont !

I know by doing a quest in Bruma (Cyrodiil) drops a script but I dont know if then doing a quest in another town in Cyrodiil will drop one?

People are posting that world and delve bosses drop scripts but I've never had a script drop from them....

AAAaaaargh !

and as for Ink.... AAAaaaargh !

Anyone have a definitive list ? !

Not definitive, but since you PvP, this may help:

Focus Scripts: PvP reward mails

Signature Scripts: Cyro town npc dailies

Affix Scripts: IC district npc dailies

First box of each category has a guaranteed drop each daily reset, but only 25% (?) each box after that.

While I do appreciate that we can get these via PvP, paying $40 should not leave us blocked by time gates.

Thanks for this info. I didn't realize that the towns in Cyro also gave out scripts. Just did a scouting mission and got one from that.

Guess I won't be doing any scribing then, since I don't PVP or go to Cyro. Oh well!

As I said, not definitive, there are many many PvE sources don't worry. Alcast has a good guide.

There are various non-pvp options for getting them also: mages guild, fighters guild, undaunted dailies IIRC, drops (small %age) from mobs, nodes. There's more info in other threads....

From what I gather, the non-PVP quests have to fit in the following categories:

Mages' Guild dailies
Fighters' Guild dailies
Undaunted dailies
Daily delve quests
Daily "World Event" (Incursion) quests
Daily World Boss quests

Once you get your daily script from a specific category, you have a 25% chance to get a script after that in the same category. So if you do the geyser quest in Summerset and get your script for that category, doing the harrowstorm quest in Western Skyrim will net you only a 25% chance to get a second one.

I don't think the Ald'ruhn dailies in Vvardenfell give any scripts since they don't fit in those categories.

Questions: Does Bolgrul count as an Undaunted daily quest or a daily delve quest? And I assume the Fighters' Guild daily is separate from the World Event quests, even though it also deals with incursions?

I know about the PVP drops and have been getting them, but do you know if doing a quest in EACH town (Bruma, Vlastarus, Cropsford) is a guaranteed drop? or is it just one town gives it, then the other two are 25% chance ?

Did you do other world boss and delve quests earlier that day? If you did the Summerset world boss and delve quests after you did the Blackwood quests, you would only have a 25% chance to get a drop.

Did you do other world boss and delve quests earlier that day? If you did the Summerset world boss and delve quests after you did the Blackwood quests, you would only have a 25% chance to get a drop.

Yesterday I did the Summerset Dailies 1st, but no drop.

Today I did the Cyrodiil town daily (Bruma), IC, Rewards for the Worthy, Deadlands, Blackwood, Mages, Fighters Guilds, Undaunted (Bogrul) and got the guaranteed drop, then did the Summerset dailies but no drop... same yesterday but in reverse order.

Would be good to know if anyone has done the Summerset dailies and got a drop at all...
