im not too far off of that, i focused on doing all the scribing quests first so i could potentially get stuff related to that while doing the west weald zone lol, i finished probably about 2/3 of the entire zone yesterday in addition to the full scribing questline

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

Is it good or bad? I would find it rather sad, personally, if one years new (main) content would be finished after only a day. The earlier it's over, the longer the wait for the next release.

just finishing the story and zone content usually always takes like 2 days tops for me

but then i usually spend the next month doing all of the other content (in this one it will be leads and scribing mostly) along with working on the achievements for doing 30 days worth of dailies (which i usually do solo, i dont usually get a bunch of shares)

That goes to show the players who are trying to suggest that Gold Road is big, an expansion should contain more then a day's worth of content.

You still have the dungeons and all the gear drops from zone.

And you got the scribing done too?

But I've seen players in WOW go 1 to 60 in less than a day. And every expansion, there are players rushing for server/world first. I rushed 40 to 50 in less than 24 hours because Blizzard was overpaying rewards for a new leveling area. But then I needed to be 50 before most of the opposing faction. I don't really see what you get here unless you want to make scribing vids or something.

Rare fish? Multiple characters? Both regional servers? On foot or speeding on mounts and porting to friends?

The amount of time and enjoyment you get out of any game's expansion will depend on how much of it you're interested in.

Agreed. I ported to one of my houses in Gold Coast-- the one in the upper NE corner of the zone-- then walked along the wall in northern Gold Coast until I found the gateway to West Weald, fighting goblins, minotaurs, and wolves along the way.

Then I walked from that gateway through West Weald until I reached Skingrad, fighting mobs, harvesting resource nodes, and looting treasure chests along the way-- acquiring an Antiquity lead and a Scribing script in the process-- as well as making a lot of detours to go discover every nearby map location that popped up on my compass.

I still haven't finished playing through High Isle on my main character, and for that matter I never completed Imperial City's questline on him. When I first started playing ESO, I spent the first several weeks or months racing around like an ecstatic madman, trying to see and do everything at once. It was a lot of fun, but it was also confusing in the sense that the quests and storylines went by so fast that it was all a blur.

Eventually I settled into a much more relaxed playstyle that combines a regular daily routine, such as crafting writs and daily zone quests-- and now daily ToT matches against the NPCs-- with other things that I enjoy but do on a less regular basis, such as completing Black Sacraments or Heists, running dungeons, or heading to Cyrodiil for some Alliance War fun. It helps keep the game fresh for me, and ensures that I'll always have new stuff to do whenever I feel like it.

Racing around trying to see and do everything at once was fun, but it's also fun to go slowly, stop to read every new lore book that I come across, let the NPCs finish each of their lines instead of just clicking through, etc.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

I play about 2 hours (+/-1) in the evenings and I think Necrom took me between a week and 10 days (can't remember exactly), for completing all main and side quests, clearing all locations once (including WBs), some antiquities and achievements. I don't rush through dialogues and read most lorebooks.

Of course, there are more things to do in a zone, like getting all collectibles, doing all achievements, fishing, ToT (although I personally don't care for the card game; I really tried, but sadly, it bores me so fast), but for me, the main appeal of a new chapter is exploration, lore and story. I already find 1 or 2 weeks, well, not much for a whole year, but 1 week is still preferable over 1 day.

i went a bit slower on necrom because i was also running that story with my gf, so i didnt want to get ahead of her on that lol

usually the basic "finish" of a zone (all quests, WBs, delves, skyshards) takes me about 2 days on avg, but the rest of the content (achievements, gear collection, antiquities, scribing (in this case), and other misc content) can take me up to about a month to finish

I’ve always taken my time with chapters, taking it all in and trying not to miss stuff. Sometimes zones have some Easter eggs and stuff along the journey. Whenever I get to play Gold Road it’ll be the same approach, especially now that I don’t have to rush it.

Q3 and Q4 changes last year were honestly some of the best moves. Bugs were piling up.
