Is it good or bad? I would find it rather sad, personally, if one years new (main) content would be finished after only a day. The earlier it's over, the longer the wait for the next release.
Certainly not my playstyle, but whatever floats your boat.

but then i usually spend the next month doing all of the other content (in this one it will be leads and scribing mostly) along with working on the achievements for doing 30 days worth of dailies (which i usually do solo, i dont usually get a bunch of shares)

I play about 2 hours (+/-1) in the evenings and I think Necrom took me between a week and 10 days (can't remember exactly), for completing all main and side quests, clearing all locations once (including WBs), some antiquities and achievements. I don't rush through dialogues and read most lorebooks.
Of course, there are more things to do in a zone, like getting all collectibles, doing all achievements, fishing, ToT (although I personally don't care for the card game; I really tried, but sadly, it bores me so fast), but for me, the main appeal of a new chapter is exploration, lore and story. I already find 1 or 2 weeks, well, not much for a whole year, but 1 week is still preferable over 1 day.
