Request for roleplaying: Better headtracking and height PoV dialogue cameras

Not sure how complicated or feasible this would be, but here goes.

After playing Skyrim with mods and ESO back and forth, I'm struck how subtle things can make a huge difference. For example Skyrim has PC head tracking mods which have an up/down and left/right adjustment when interacting with (or standing next to) other NPCs, so that my character will look them in the eye, which seems natural.

ESO has minimal tracking with left/right which is okay I guess, but it's very bizarre and kind of ruins the immersion when there is a major height difference... I'm currently doing the 2 Elsweyr zones and now that I'm meeting all the different Khajiit with their substantial height differences, I'm struck by how awkward this truly feels.

Which leads me into my second point: The dialogue camera... which doesn't take into account the player perspective relative to NPC height AT ALL, and totally borks immersion. For example those really tall ones (can't remember the name off the top of my head) just stop being tall, and the very short ones just stop being short in a dialogue sequence, since the entire camera adjusts its angle to be horizontally eye-to-eye with the NPC. So it seems that my character is suddenly just as tall as (or just as short as) a substantially different height NPC.

It would be nice to have an option to have my character look up (or down) at a very tall (or short) NPC with his eyes and head, while that NPC also looks down at me (or up at me) according to the situation - both in dialogue and just passing nearby.

It's a minor complaint but it's something that bugs me more and more. I just started replaying the Coldharbour quest chain again for funzies on my very short, very skinny, skeeving little chickensh**t Wood Elf thief and got to Lyris Titanborn, and both during dialogue and on the escorts I feel like I lose the perspective completely. It's weird having my character stare at her belly all the time, to then switch to dialogue and be eye-to-eye with her as though I'm suddenly 7'6".

Again, I'm not sure how complicated this would be to change or if I'm just farting into the wind. But after playing several weeks in Anequina and now Pelletine I feel like I have to at least get this off my chest, even though my expectations are at zero. /shrug

Agree. Assuming the devs are planning for long life for ESO, this is exactly the type of thing they should strive for. Constant small improvements like this would really help extend the life of ESO. Little things like lateral/vertical head tracking, more hair styles with movement, swimming while mounted just to name a few.

Inverse foot kinematics is a perfect example of a welcome small change like this that the devs incorporated some time ago. The ability to hide shoulders is another. :)

Agree, sure, but in the meantime... It's been years and many of us console players are still crying to have Vertical sliders for the camera in general, since those are totally missing, being exclusive to PC for whatever reason...

Console players' camera has no chance to match the style of Skyrim as of June 2024 - feels absurd, and we unheard even if requested many times over the years.
