Why is the 10-year celebration in Sweden closed to players?

Quite a while back it was announced that there would be a 10-year celebration in Sweden, but no additional information about where or when was released.
Ever since I, and many others, have periodically checked for updates but there's been nothing posted about it.

Yesterday at 10:54 the official Bethesda Nordic account on FB posted this "Now is your chance! We are celebrating the 10th Anniversary of The Elder Scrolls Online in Stockholm, Sweden.
To enter to win a spot at our unique celebration on June 4th, tag a friend you'd like to bring with you and comment below on your fondest ESO memory before 16:00 cest TODAY
."

The celebration is in a week, players were given a 5 hours time slot to potentially win tickets, and there appears to be no way to sign up/buy tickets as no other information/posts have been made since.
And just to really hammer in how unavailable this entire event and post has been - 3 people managed to see the post in time and comment. Who is even attending this!?

The entire handling of this event has been incredibly disappointing, and I truly hope this is not the only 10-year celebration happening in Sweden.
Can we please get an update on what's happening here @ZOS_GinaBruno ?

FFXIV Fan Festival was similar. It was a lotto drawing.

    There's limited space
I'd have liked to go too, but I missed the window. Is all good.

This is not about being it having limited space, or that it's a lotto drawing, but that it's been handled extremely poorly.

Everyone understand that there is limited space at any event, but even if they invite every single person who entered they'd still have less than 10 people attending.

I wonder if it'll be like the event in Amsterdam where they give away a load of free tickets to local players?

Met a lot of people at the Amsterdam event who claimed they'd been contacted directly by Zenimax and offered tickets for the event since they lived in the Netherlands. If they do the same for the Sweden event it'll make it appear a lot busier.

Coincidentally, the ShowClix website selling the tickets revealed that there were 206 customers (it was unclear from the site if it included all customers or only the VIP tickets - I reckon it was all tickets) 2 days before the event kicked off. I don't know if this was just paying customers, or if it included all the freebie tickets that were doled out too.

Totally agree that giving interested people 5 hours to register for an event is a bit harsh, and to announce it on Facebook is a sure fire way to keep visibility to a minimum. Let's hope they livestream the event!

What do we want? Our anniversary goblets and Alfiqi plushies!
When do we want them? Back in April 2024 when we expected to receive them!

I suspect that they've contacted a local guild and invited players from there before they made the post, since they've done events together with guilds in the Nordics before. The main difference being that in the past they've made it clear that it's in collaboration with a guild and made the event open for non-members to sign up as well in a timely manner.

This time it's been complete radio silence, until the very limited timeframe where you could win a ticket.
Even if they had decided to make this event invite only in the exact same way, they could have chosen to handle it in a way that doesn't set players up for disappointment due to the lack of information. For example, at the very least they could have chosen to make/include info in a news post saying when the event is, that you can win tickets and accounts to follow to not miss it.

My goal in posting this is to have Bethesda/ZOS handle their events in a better way in the future, if that succeeds or not is another matter.

I'd wanted to go, personally, as I'm in Sweden, but getting to Stockholm and finding lodging is a pain in the rear.

That's part of it. I know people who wanted to attend, but even if they had tickets they wouldn't be able to because one week's notice is not enough time to arrange travel and hotels/housing.

Well, I'm out in the middle of BFE so it's annoying to travel to the city to begin with.

Yeah, and just for those who are unfamiliar with Sweden - for a lot of people it takes an entire day to travel to Stockholm so it's not like a lot of other European countries where you can get almost anywhere within 2-3 hours.

I'm so disappointed. I couldn't attend Amsterdam, so I was super hyped when they announced there would be an event in Sweden in June. I've been checking and guessing for the dates weekly ever since (as we don't have a Nordic Community Manager anymore to take care of us and answer our questions :'( ), but this event came very sudden and is clearly targeted for a very limited player base.

To be honest, I feel left out. What I thought the announcement (you know, the big announcement of "don't worry if you didn't get to join Amsterdam, we will be having these local events for you all around :) " that they did on world wide live stream the whole community was watching) said was that we would have meetups we would actually have a chance to actuall join them somehow... There's no way for me to get time off from work in a week's notice. If I could event have got my hands on the tickets, as there was a whole 4-hour time slot to attend the lottery to win an invite.

I really hope we do get some sort of answer for what went wrong here, and more importantly that steps are taken to make sure we don't end up here again for future events.

Well they haven't been transparent about it, but my best guess is that they decided to no longer have a Nordic Community Manager. We had one up until last year, and then we didn't. As far as I can tell they haven't tried to recruit a new one.

We won't know if the event itself is good yet, it might very well be >_>
