Change how we edit Original Posts

I frequently see posts where the OP of a thread says something like "I couldn't edit my original post so I will say this here."

Posts are edited by using the gear in the body of the post... except for the original post where the gear is on the subject line. It is not intuitive to look at the subject line for a gear to edit a post.

Please change how we edit the original post or make it more obvious.

I once was the mod of Vanilla and a Vbulletin forum and we had multiple ways users could edit post...in Vanilla we started with a gear but people could easily miss it so we replaced it with a straight up edit button...I'm sure they could do the same thing here.

Agreed, edit options in general need to be more obvious. I don't usually make my own posts, but on the thread I'm running over in the housing section, having the gear icon next to the threads title is really inconvenient.

I wish we had a better interface for editing and managing posts and BB code in general. I find the options pretty limiting.

I know Vanilla has it's limitations, but like Warhawke, I've modded forums using Vanilla before and there are better and more obvious ways to display the "edit post" icons which don't confuse users as much.

You may say (cue in Sharp) 'Skill issue' but it took me a long time - and a panic because I had made a serious blunder in the OP - to find out how to edit the OP.

To me personally it didn't seem intuitive at all.
