I used to buy crates every couple of weeks. Not buying them anymore unless absolutely necessary. I am so tired of hearing this from Raz Um dar: you have no crates, you need to buy more crates, you are out of crates, you can buy more crates, more crates are available, you have no crates, you need to buy more crates, you are out of crates, you can buy more crates, more crates are available, you have no crates, you need to buy more crates, you are out of crates, you can buy more crates, more crates are available, you have no crates, you need to buy more crates, you are out of crates, you can buy more crates, more crates are available, you have no crates, you need to buy more crates, you are out of crates, you can buy more crates, more crates are available, you have no crates, you need to buy more crates, you are out of crates, you can buy more crates, more crates are available, you have no crates, you need to buy more crates, you are out of crates, you can buy more crates, more crates are available,

Its ridiculous needing to turn the sound Off just to decide what you want to do next. It is a good method of encouraging people to avoid that product.

I'm still surprised they used Pacrooti for the crates, for anyone who has encountered him before it's like putting a constant reminder on the menu screen that you're never going to get a good deal.

I liked his notes when he was a hireling, but I agree the constant commentary when opening crates is annoying. I never buy crates, so I only have to deal with it for the free ones and I tend to just click through as quickly as I can to get the whole process over with.

I'm hesitant to buy crates because of all the duplicates. It's crazy that you can buy a set of crates and start getting duplicates on crate 2. There should be something that prevents duplicates until you've received everything available in a tier. At the very least, the frequency of duplicates should be significantly reduced, or the gems you get for a duplicate significantly raised.

I only hear Pacrooti when opening free crates, but it's enough to make me hate him and his constant, nagging encouragment of gambling. Scam cat is what I call him. I'm curious if his badgering actually convinces anyone to buy more.

Crown crates are just too expensive. They'd be too expensive if the drop rates were 10x what they are too.

Do not be sad, my friend. There are always additional crates available for purchase!

Yeah, it is tiring. I haven't ever purchased a Crown Crate. You'd think he'd catch on after a couple of years, no?

Just chant "Pacrooti is a patooty!" over and over while getting crates. It makes his dialogue seem more and more desperate to win you over.
And then you smite him back into oblivion when you dismiss him. He is a plaything to be utilized and discarded as desired

It feels rather fitting to have Pacrooti talk like the ultimate scam artist, tbh. And then we open the crates and it's nothing but poisons and junk.

I have had 'triplicate' instances on on crate #2

As in, getting a two duplicate 'cards' of the same cosmetic that was already unlocked on crate #1

I've never bought crates but can relate to needing to turn audio off or down.

Companions are new for me (recently returned) and some are so irritating or stupid that I can't imagine what the developers were thinking with their lines.

I'm 100% a mag player and regard stamina morphs, i.e. magic which uses stamina, as super stupid. But on my main characters I usually level and ditch them to get them out of the way.

The stamina weapon abilities don't strike me as stupid but being mag and them scaling off stam, they're another level and forget kind of thing.

So I have my arcanist uber laser equipped and 9 random weapon abilities and pass someone attacking a world boss and it looks like they could use a hand. Even with my garbage build I know my laser will help at least a bit.

We did reasonably ok but without a heal equipped I did die. Which I don't often do, so what happened next was surprising.

    Sharp berated me.

What's the point of that? Or any of the companion nagging?

I find Mirri telling me to chug a potion whenever my magicka gets low offensive. So I've levelled and stopped using her.

My audio is on headphone and because of companions I now find myself leaving them on the table rather than wear them when playing.

I think I spend several hundreds of Euros for crates in the past years. Did I ever get what I wanted? No. Most things I could buy in the end with gems for way more than it would’ve cost me otherwise. Crates are a scam. And still it‘s hard to resist buying them. Basically the only time where I’m fine buying crates now is when they are bundled with one of those animations or whatever that are exclusive. This is the only time I’m ever getting crates again in the future. Never will I spend 50 Euro on 15 crates just to end up with trash.

    Do. Not. Buy. Crates.

I don't see myself buying them much in the future. The only time I went wild on them was during the High Isle era, because they had druid themed items and mounts. I think I've bought them only like 5 times at most and regretted most of those purchases. If I do buy them, it's usually the 8k pack so I get something certain out of it.

Regarding turning audio off - I usually leave dialogue off unless I'm questing. I can't stand hearing Curtaros belting out his line the moment I log in, or any of the NPCs just blasting out their dialogue simply because I'm in proximity. If their dialogue trees were a bit more robust, I'd leave it on, but it's not a value-added for me anymore. I just like listening to the music and relaxing in-game.

I guess Pacrooti's blatherings are reason enough.

For me, it was spending real money and being given stocking filler for my trouble.

The current free crates remind me:
    • Pacrooti is really annoying
    • Why would I actually pay for rubbish?
    Oh dear, unintended consequences....

There are occasionally cosmetics that I really like, and can only be obtained with crowns. The free login crates help on that by generating gems, so this reduces my actual cost as well. But crates are on a limited time only and then gone for at least a year. This isn't exactly an issue where I'm gonna deprive myself of something i may have been waiting for to come back.

I LOVE Pacrooti. He's trustworthy because you can instantly tell what type of smooth-talker you're dealing with. I would like to watch him get out of a parking ticket. While somehow selling the ticketer a CD of his mixtape.

    I want a Pacrooti sidequest.

I wonder if he and Raz ever dated before Raz got all into his career ...

If Elder Scrolls Legends had a Pacrooti-like character for opening card packs, Hearthstone would be out of business.
