Does the forum search work at the moment?

I've been trying to look up some info on missing lorebooks on the forums, along with another post that had useful info on editing the guild message of the day with colours and icons. Thing is, forum search gives me no results for anything I search for. I've even tried searching for generic terms and single word searches that should yield some results (scribing, Necrom, motd, motifs as example searches with no results).

Fairly sure I've not forgotten how to use the forum search :D Have I missed something here?

    It's borked right now. It may get fixed the next time Vanilla releases an update, whenever that might happen to be.

    Many of us are unable to use Google due to the current antitrust investigations taking place on several continents around the world.

    It would be much simpler to have a working search feature on the forums, thank you both for your suggestion though! If it helps for the future, I had already considered the obvious and ruled it out due to the desire for localised search functionality that doesn't involve generating revenue for a company that has been abusing monopolistic practices for the best part of 2 decades.

    TaSheen provided an excellent and well-informed answer that I had already marked as answering the question before anyone else had posted.

    I look forward to Zenimax updating the forum software and fixing the search feature in due course :smile:

    I agree with other posters. I have much better luck doing a google search than using the search feature on this forum. When you use the forum search box you get all kinds of totally unrelated posts, and the search results pop up in no logical order.
