EHT - item grouping question

I'm new to the EHT addon, and was wondering about groups. Can I create multiple groups, or is that not even a concept in ESO housing?

Today, I was trying to move 2 vases, each with a small plant inside, to new positions, and was having trouble with it. Do I need to group a vase with its flower, move them around, then ungroup them, and repeat for the other vase and its flower? Or is there an easier way to do this?

You can move as many items together as you wish at the same time with EHT, you can even copy/paste items and move them that way. I have moved builds across different houses often.

I use EHT but I believe that some of the ways I do things are probably not the fastest way.

If you look to the bottom right of your screen and hover over the icons there, you will see various different options one of which is "tools", that is the section I use for selecting and moving items.

Sorry for the terrible description but I believe there are multiple tutorial videos to help use the addon too. <3

I did a few screenshots, as I said above this may not be the best or quickest way to move multiple items but it works! :)

First of all on right hand side pick the "crossed tools" option....

    C1XzdsX.png

When you have the "tools" window open hover over each item you wish to move and press "G" to select them, each item will then add to the box in the window and you will also see a "tick" on that item.

    jz9Arwc.png

When you have all required items selected you then can choose the distance to move them on the sliding scale below the arrows, middle bottom of window.

    XDtNSdc.png

All that you then need to do is to use the arrows to move your selected items in the direction you require.

    MIGRQuO.png

Voila your vases and flowers are moved!

    Hope this helps <3

Thanks, that helps. So I guess I was wrong about how groups work? I thought they were somehow permanent, but they only exist until you exit the housing editor, right?

By the way, PLEASE tell me how to get those blue flowers! I've seen them a lot in Grahtwood, and I've always wanted them for a player house.

Well, no. Regarding EHT: You can establish a group of items and then save that group with some name. Look at the UI of the grouping function and you will see a slot near the top to name the group and the word "save" above and near that slot. I was doing that all morning today. One name I made up and used was something I called "NewShipEngine1".

It's so second nature to me I'd have to go in game and look at it to describe it better.

Once saved in a particular house you can then load it up again later (even months later) in that house and move the group around and change the components and then save it again with the new parts. And so on.

Then there is another function that allows you to copy/paste a bunch of items (a group) from your inventory in that same house or even a different house. You get a duplicate of the group you made as long as you have those items, in the same orientation to each other.

EHT has many other features I use.

Thanks, I noticed the copy/paste function in the UI, but I'm confused: how can these items be copied? They're purchased through an in-game store (or maybe acquired though antiquities), so I don't understand how they can be copied.

As @MageCatF4F said groups can be saved, also leaving a house with a selection up those items will still be selected when you next return, you physically need to uncheck your selections to remove them.....

Many times I've missed an item and ended up moving that too with a new selection, although tbf that is user failure not the addons fault!!

The blue flowers are Flowers, Blue Starbloom and they are luxury vendor items, last up 14/07/23 so not due back for a while yet but Guild Traders should have them!

    Copy/paste only works if

1:- You have duplicates of the copied items available, in your inventory, bank or storage or
2:- If you copy the items and then put them back in to your inventory to take to wherever you wish to paste them.

So for example the screenshots above, I have selected those items and say the platform they are on too.

I then click on copy/paste which opens a new window, in that window there is the option to copy selection, that then puts the selection into the new window.

That window has various option for where the addon will look for the items to then paste them, it's a bit hard to explain, I would suggest just trying it, once you see the options you will understand how it works, it is quite easy. 💗

Yes, I saw them in the TTC web site just now, they're all being listed for about 20k - ouch. So much for my dreams of a field full of them.
