Okay, so this might be nuts, but hear me out.
Bethesda's brand has been linked heavily to player modding, even to the extent that modders have provided legitimate game assets that are sold in game stores (e.g. Fallout 4).
Could we not have a similar model for ESO, where people built furnishing packs, or reskinned existing models (such as mounts or pets), that could then be sold in a sort of community crown store? Other big games and metaverses have similar community stores. If ZOS is feeling like ESO is a metaverse of sorts, this could be a natural fit.
It would require the right set of tools to be made available, and certain assets would end up being put out there, but it seems like it would be another attraction for creative hobbyists that could result in some quality content with low risk or management overhead to ZOS (once set up).
When I think about all of the housing items that were built from existing assets through workarounds, it makes me think that this creative energy could be better spent if it were unleashed in this way. Not only that, but it could provide a modest revenue stream for naturally talented players who choose to contribute.
If someone already posted something like this, apologies. I did not find anything.
Okay, ESO community - constructively tweak or kill this idea.
