DK Mountain's Blessing with Flame Damage?

A simple but probably complex explanation please? I am trying a Mag DK focusing around alot of flame damage with inferno staves. I'm noticing that mountains blessing passive is increasing just my weapon damage which raises my wep dmg higher than my spell dmg. Is this actually lowering my dmg I'm doing since flame is an elemental base damage and would reference spell damage?

I just try flame staff on necromancer and all the ability on staff was the same but on dk it increased the flame damage.

Damage scales with whichever is high. More Weapon damage just means more damage. Spell/Weapon damage stat is a relic of the past.

The 10% increase will buff everything you do

    Genfe,

Awesome that is what I was looking for :D I remember WAAAAAAY back before they changed everything it did matter in what I was thinking but its good to have it clarified that my abilities are just scaling with whatever is higher thank you :)

yeah it scales off whichever is higher as stated

there are a few things though which still focus buffing one of those stats, starter gear like julianos and hundings are both specific dmg typed

so using the DK as an example, hundings is flat out 100% better than julianos even if your going with a mag build because hundings gives weapon dmg on the 5 pc, which your getting a better boost from due to the DK passive

templar kind of works the other way where they get the buff that increases spell dmg, so julianos would be much better than hundings on a templar

a lot of other stuff in the game has been hybridized so the weapon dmg and spell dmg jewelry glyphs now give both weapon and spell dmg (the differing factor is the one which used to give spell dmg now also gives a minor mag recov boost, and the one which used to give weapon dmg now also gives a minor stam recov boost)

No oakfather is only one that boost everything
