Healing is generally considered to be the main proficiency of Wardens....

No is frost and bleed only, healing is only for templar and Arcanist's but especially templar because most of the restoration skill suck.

I beg to differ. Wardens are top tier healers.

If you don't like light attacking between each skill, you may like to try an Arcanist.

Incidentally my warden is a Breton ready for when he graduates from DPS to healing.

Still need to light attack to keep up with ulti Gen.

create a char of each type, play them all for a bit, say to level 20 or 30, to work out which one works best for you :o

You could also download the PTS (public test server) and create level 50 characters in all classes to see their full potential.

Downloading the client takes a bit of time but unless (like me) you live in speed poor Australia, that's probably much quicker than levelling them on live.

The recent PTS debacle was extremely atypical. Usually the PTS is perfectly safe to play on.

At the moment I mostly wander around doing quests and delves. I don't need to use my ultimate much. The beam suffices. In the countryside I sometimes don't even build up the triangles before beaming.

Thanks for the tip. I automatically light attack between skills out of habit from using other classes. I hadn't realised how important it is.

Lots of good advice here. My main is my first toon, but I created her many years ago. AWA (Account Wide Achievements, if you are not familiar with the term) has eliminated the need to do everything on your main character, for the most part.

I still try to do most things on my main, if I can, but now I can have other “mains” who specialize in PvP or trials, and still get those achievements.

    Khajiit Stamblade main
    Dark Elf Magsorc
    Redguard Stamina Dragonknight
    Orc Stamplar PVP
    Breton Magsorc PVP
    Dark Elf Magden
    Khajiit Stamblade
    Khajiit Stamina Arcanist

I like playing everything and have something like 16 characters. Play a few toons that interest you till you settle on one you like the most. There's a lot to do in game, it's easy for each character to get to lvl50 doing different stuff.

As mentioned, maybe focus on one character to learn the crafting traits, motifs etc I agree that it's better to concentrate those skills in one place. Don't neglect crafting with your other toons completely though, they can still do daily writs to earn money and get reward boxes like in the event we just had.

I have a problem with choosing a main. I managed to get Templar to cp160, but there are so many options that I start a new char and the start feeling "connnected" to that char.

Problem is that I feel Im wasting my time and I know it shouldnt matter if Im having fun, but that feeling is taking away from my fun.

Anyone has some words of wishdom to help me in my predicament? 😅

I always end up back at Templar.

It's the best for PVE to survive. Healing while doing damage and not having to take an action just to heal is HUGE for me.

I keep trying out other classes but never get very far. So I use Templar and enjoy it.

Just pick one character you're having good fun with and focus on doing quests, getting to places (to unlock wayshrines), and reaching effective max level (CP 160).

Once you hit CP 160, all your gear will be scaled to this level and you won't need to worry about replacing it anymore. Then once each of your alternate characters also reach level 50, they'll instantly become CP 160 (or however much CP you have) as well, so you can share equipment between max level characters without a worry.

My main is a Nord DK. Got 6 builds on it. 2 DPS and 4 tank. I don't use it all the time or even a majority of the time, but when there's harder content to do, this is usually the character I use.
