ZOS seems incredibly secretive on the dates of the actual events but I don't think there's anything until June when the new chapter ships.

The next big event will be Zeal of Zenithar which is down as 'summer' but I'm guessing July. Not sure when Whitestrakes Mayhem will be out.

Zeal of Zenithar will count as a Q2 event this year, since it offers the last fragment for the Master of Schemes Personality.

    Thank you!
I was surprised that they released the first 2 fragments for the new collectible at the same time, so I anticipate just one other event in Q2 so we can complete it... but it would be great if they could confirm

Your best bet to anticipate ticket events is to watch the PTS patch notes, and I also have as much information as I can predict (based on prior years, PTS, and any other information I can get) on my Event Tracker addon page.

If you play on PC and have the addon installed (and up-to-date), you can use the chat command "/evti upc" ("evti" is for "EVent Tracker Information", and "UPC" for "UPComing events") any time you want to see what's next. If you want to pass that information to others in chat, you can use "/evtc upc" ("EVent Tracker Chat") - it'll put the info into your chat box entry line, then you have to press enter to actually send it. (Make sure you're in the right chat first.)

My current prediction is that there will be no event in May, and that Zeal of Zenithar (the only upcoming event we know of so far, from the PTS) will likely be in June. Though they haven't always run events in the same order on live as they were run on PTS, so that's not guaranteed.

Probably June 6-18, 13-25, 20-July 2, or June 27-July 9. That's predicting pretty far ahead, and I don't have a lot of info to go by yet, thus all the possibilities. But there you go.

In a few days, we'll have another event, so we'll have a good idea what'll be in June and July, but still not certain which is which. :) (ZOS tends to keep us on our toes, even up to the last minute, as this event that just ended re-confirmed.)

Considering the Zeal items are in the patch, the event can't happen until the patch releases on all consoles. That means the next event will be Zeal starting either the 20th or the 27th of June.

The PTS will also be testing the first fragment of the Q3 morph with MYM, which will probably be at the end of July. The Q3 patch usually comes around August, so we'll probably see the other events thereafter in that update.

Now, we could have an Explorer's event coming in May, and I wouldn't be surprised after some of us missed the XP boost from half of the last event. But there won't be any ticketed things until the end of June.

May doesn't have anything which shows up regularly. They squeezed in a Midyear Mayhem last year (that's usually a summer thing), nothing in 2022, an Explorer's Celebration in 2021, a Vampire Week in 2020 (kind of a lead-in to Greymoor), nothing in 2019, nothing major in 2018 (a "pre-order Summerset and get Morrowind" promo), so kind of iffy for anything before Gold Road's release unless "chug a Dew, get goodies (but only if you're in North America)" counts as an event. Zeal of Zenithar is currently up on PTS, so that's very likely the next event. The Impresario has the last piece of Master of Schemes on PTS, strongly implying a Q2 event but no idea when. 2022's Zeal was technically a Q2 event by one day (started 30 June and ran into mid-July).
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

Does ZOS think hiding the dates of upcoming events is really helpful to them?

    Really?

I assume they don't want people only playing around Events to "maximize" their rewards for the time they've spent, assuming these people would go play other games (clearly a sin) during non-Event times. And ESO wants constant engagement (not very realistic, but Capitalism do be like that).

If you aren't constantly paying attention to everything ESO, you'll miss out on lots of stuff because they simply don't allow you to plan in advance like that. That's the tradeoff they enforce. It sucks.

I find their incessant FOMO-push downright exhausting no matter how much I love the world, and it's a big part of what drives me to take LONG breaks from ESO. So, for people like me, this strategy often winds up having the opposite effect. They burn us out. I guess we're the minority, though. That, or the burnout really isn't that rare but they just rely on a constant supply of fresh blood to grind through. Which seems quite obviously ridiculous and unsustainable. What really sucks about this, particularly noticeable with the anniversary event, is not knowing somewhat in advance may also cause people who do otherwise play regularly to miss out due to traveling. Anniversary is somewhat predictable if you've been around awhile but not 100% set in stone and the Jubilee mount basically required everyday play unless you wanted to be double punished for missing (miss tickets and miss a fragment while needing to play every day and still buy pieces).

Games shouldn't be a job and shouldn't supersede RL stuff but trends seem to be pushing more and more towards "if you're not living and breathing this one thing, don't bother".

Another game I play recently released an update. A new gameplay loop was introduced. On April 9th, they released an article saying new game loop was from the 2nd to the 15th and would "return later". The update had been so riddled with bugs a lot of people hadn't bothered even starting it yet so announcing midway through that it was limited time only was very poorly received.

While I do think these developers are sometimes diabolical, this one is more complicated because of game release dates.

They shift constantly both as a function of developers needing more time and of trying to perfectly time the release of their game versus everyone else's. And sometimes they ninja release with little or no warning.

You don't have to buy ESO again to play every event so they're not competing with new games for limited player money, but player time is still limited and Zenimax would be trying to avoid any major clashes. Now owned by Microsoft that would be doubly true for any other Microsoft owned title.

So I would expect that there is in fact no concrete schedule that they can share with players right now except for the ones paired to real world holidays which we already know.

pretty much this by itself. Zos has over used FOMO concept pretty much since the beginning of the game, its been their marketing tactic forever.

The entire game is designed around FOMO and artificial scarcity.

Why would events be any different?
