PTS is the test server that you will be able to access if you download it, I assume the beta is from the beta launcher

I was a beta player, and my launcher still said "Beta." on it for the first six years of the game, until I finally got myself a new rig. But it never said it on the new rig. Odd.

You have to toggle the PTS on to download it. But I'm pretty sure it showing up on the left doesn't mean anything--unless it starts actually showing progress.

Yeah, that Beta flag (along with the red "live.2842575") is referencing the new launcher, which is still in Beta.

Yeah, I was confused too. I figured since they finally calmed down on all of the random changes to combat it might finally be ready for a Release Candidate 1 by now. Hopefully soon™.

Beta is for the launcher itself. There is an option in the settings (on the launcher) to opt-in/out of launcher betas. PTS is the Public Test Server. This is also optional and also in the launcher settings, but it does require being able to install the full game twice (one for live-server and one for PTS; they will also have separate sub-folders in the ESO user files in \Documents\Elder Scrolls Online). Live-server updates whenever the devs roll out patches for that; PTS updates pretty much weekly during update cycles.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.
